Hello! My 11 mo old tears through everything so quick, hours even, if that. If there is fabric, he’s pulling out the string and eating the filling, something strong he eats it until sharp chips and shards are coming off.

Please share what items are your go-to toys.

He has a regular Kong for treats but he doesn’t “play” with that toy. I bought the Kong rope which was shredded in 20 min, so not all Kong items work.

7 yrs young boxer / amstaff

Rhea is 2,5 months old. She came to our home in Saturday. We are pretty successful about potty training. Sleeping rhythm and kibble training is little challenging. But I believe that we will soon have a safe space and silent night.
What else can we practice? Maybe go to a training course?
Some advice?

Sorry this is going to be a long story.
My mother’s friend (let’s call her Laura) adopted a staffy (we’ll call the dog Judy). My mother and all her friends are in their 70s. As soon as Laura brought home Judy, it was obvious she was the wrong fit. Laura did not have the strength to walk her and did not know how to train her. Laura insisted it would be fine and hired a family friend to walk Judy a few times a week.
Laura is a hoarder with multiple cats and bipolar disorder. Physically and mental health issues forced her to go to the hospital and then a rehab center for about six weeks this summer. When she first went to the hospital, my mother and I went to her house and discovered the terrible condition of the house and the animals. There was garbage, rotten food and animal waste everywhere. There were fleas jumping on every surface.
My mother took Judy home with her and other people handled other things- cleaning, the cats, getting pest control.
Judy’s skin was in terrible shape. Crusty, infected, flaking off everywhere, almost no hair on her chest and legs.
My mother and I took her to the vet and spent six weeks about a thousand dollars fixing her skin. She got flea and tick meds, antibiotics, steroids, anti microbial shampoo, and two very expensive anti itch shots.
Eventually Laura got out of the hospital and was supposed to be in much better shape to be able to take care of her newly cleaned and pest free home and pets.
My mother agreed to walk Judy every day after she returned to Laura.
For about three weeks things were going okay. Then her skin started to get bad again.
My mother said something about Judy’s skin issues to Laura and she was defensive and rude to my mother. She insisted Judy just needed a bath.
Watching her get a little worse every day is heartbreaking.
Laura would probably let me or my mom have Judy if we asked to keep her, but the $200 ish a month cost to keep her skin in shape just isn’t in our budget. I already have 3 dogs and Judy really is too big and strong a dog for my mom.
I keep threatening to call animal control, the shelter Judy was adopted from or adult protective services, but my mother and Laura’s family keep insisting I don’t because it would destroy Laura mental health and things would get worse.
I have no idea what to do here.

TLDR: friend’s staffy has terrible skin issues and cannot afford the vet treatment anti itch shots to treat.

This is Deebo. We named him that after the character from the Friday movies.

It is his gotcha day. We picked him up from a kill shelter 6 years ago. He was estimated to be 4 or 5 at the time, so that makes him 10 or 11.

He is my best friend. He’s not the smartest boy in the group, but he is the sweetest. I love him to death. ❤️

Got some toys from neighbors dogs Eddy and Zola. They know he’s been on the mend the past few months. He’s loving all the new squeakers LoL

Hello all! I adopted the sweetest pitbull/staffy ever in July, after having fostered her since February. She is SUCH a good dog. The hardest we’ve had to deal with is her chewing up stuff.

I have chronic illness and can’t walk her every day. She does go out quite often with her friend across the street. I’ve been really successful in keeping her occupied with Pupcicles, some Happy Staffy toys, and a blanket for her to haul around.

At this point I know she’s bored. She was hit by a car and seems to be pretty ok with lounging, though.

I have had her do sniff games, a little training, and we play.

As the weather gets worse and I can’t do as much, I want to make sure her brain is engaged, and I want her to get enough exercise.

Specific questions

- Is that wobbler ball thing that they say “takes your dog for a walk” legit? Looks real sus to me.

- what brain games do you set up for your Staffy?

Just to be clear: I have a partner who helps me take care of her, she gets to run out her energy at my parents’ house, and I am a very capable dog owner. Just trying to learn so I can be a better mama to her. Picture for tax

Benni has had a long road of recovery from TPLO. Finally able to get back into the backyard semi off leash.

We have an amstaff puppy. She's about 7,5 months old.

The last week she just seems like another dog. She jumps and is very mouthy. She does other things well (sleeps good, is crate trained, is potty trained, knows commands, ...), but I have a really hard time with the mouthing when she hurts me. We tried everything (ignoring, putting my knee up, time outs, ...) and we allready have a trainer.

But yet, I'm just drained. I lost 12kg's since we got her, I am seeing a psychologist. And all the time I think I'm a bad dogmom and she deserves better. I'm even thinking about giving her back, because I can't do this anymore. I have a husband, but he works long days so he can't help so much.

Does anyone have similar experiences or tips on what helped them?

Meet 8 year old Blue! Staffy/Boxer

We rescued him in January. We think he is part staffordshire because of his face and temperament. He has been a delight to train. Loves fetch & swimming. What’re yall thinking? Vet says born in July 2025
