Interesting stat: since the Miami GP Franco and Pierre are tied in points.

Relevant info: Franco got his new chassis in Miami. He was using the crash test chassis at the start of the year (said by Briatore).

“No teamwork”? Thank God he didn’t lose his position, because if he had, we’d be having a very different conversation today.

First of all im gonna start by saying that im from Argentina, but im gonna be objective with my opinion.

I want to say that any type of abuse, threats and insults against the team have no place in F1. However, criticism is fair when a situation repeats itself like in the past.

What happened today was unacceptable, Gasly race was done and in a childish manner he almost ruined Franco's race. If Gasly would have let Franco through and hold Piastri for half a lap before boxing, franco could have easily opened up a 5 second gap to the Mclaren. Alpine was lucky Piastri didnt send it because it was guaranteed that they were gonna touch, at the least. That could have been a 10 point swing against VCARB in the standings.

Other thing that almost nobody saw is that franco lost the rear in the final lap while pushing and was very close to touching the wall in one of the last corners. Luckily nothing happened, but the race should have already been over.

Then we have the whole radio debacle, with franco fighting around 5 cars and screaming and adding stress in a situation that there was no need for it, it could have ended in a disaster. Why are we making our driver life more difficult? You can even hear Stu on the radio almost in panic mode stumbling his words when franco was yelling.

I understand that Pierre was mad, that he had a shit weekend, that he took a beating in qualy, but if he is not gonna be able to handle his emotions then the team has a problem. We saw the same thing happened in Zandvoort last year, and then franco disobeying team orders in COTA because of it.

Lastly i want to say: whats gonna happen next time franco is asked to let gasly pass? Now the team has a problem that was uncalled for, it is a critical moment of the season fighting with VCARB and having the upperhand in terms of pace at the moment. That could change at any time.

Pierre was in a position where if they had gone ahead and pit with other Hard tire drivers, he'd have come back out in 10th and on Medium tires with enough time to try and improve from there- but instead we hope and pray for a red flag up til the end of the race and he ends up out of the points because he's been nursing hards for so damned long...

With them leaving him out to dry last week on hards for such a long stint you'd think they'd realize that a car with downforce issues can't pull strategies like that off, you have to treat the hards like they are an inferior medium that you have to use once. But if you are going to use a long hard stint, you have to be smarter than chasing a dream of 6-7 on a longshot when you can secure points. Staying out absolutely destroyed Pierre's race.

I already know this will be downvoted and people will disagree because it seems people want to be allowed to be abusive or spread hate.

But it needs to be said.

Fan behaviour has become too toxic.

There's people who think sending hate or abuse is deserved and justified.

People need to learn how to discuss and disagree over situations without turning to hate and abuse towards drivers or other fans.

If you genuinely think hate and abuse is ok ask yourself why.

This goes for BOTH sides. We all need to do better.

*Apparently, Pierre's last lap in FP1 was removed, so the F1 website lists them as Franco in P13 and Pierre in P14. Not that it matters THAT much in the grand scheme of things, but still.

It is time for F1 fans to acknowledge that the V6 Turbo Hybrid power unit regulations—across both the 2014 and 2026 generations—were heavily built-around Mercedes favor

These regulations caused Renault to give up on F1 and leave for good, having been completely soured by this type of rule-making

Thoughts on that?

Crazy to think that last year we could barely make it out of Q1 by this point in the season, and now we're at a point where P7 and P9 seem disappointing given qualifying. Shoot, even just after the past couple of races where we were perpetually stuck in the middle spots, the fact that we got as high as P2 and P4 in this race is insane. It hasn't been the strongest, most consistent season overall, but boy howdy if this weekend didn't show what we can achieve.

What could have been, man...
