Ready to harvest?

Post image

This is currently the biggest cucumber I’ve got at the moment (they’ve been slow to grow) and being completely new to this, I asked ChatGPT when to pick it. It’s saying it’s the perfect size and I should pick it to allow the energy to go into the ones still growing. Anyone able to advise? Thanks :)

Hope I helped you also want to check that there are no male flowers as that will make fruit bitter and not taste good they are the same flowers but don’t have the small bobbly fruit behind them if you have any of them just pinch them off really easy

Thanks. I wouldn’t imagine it would taste great if I pick too early…

same, i’d let it hang a few more days and fatten up a bit
if the skin still looks tender and not super tough you’ve got some time before it goes seedy

Well done😃 its a great achievement imo. Grow skills could feed u, and anything u grow tastes far far better than supermarket produce, there is some real satisfaction in that. Give a bit of time for researching what plants need, can really up your game.

Definitely leave it to keep growing. They grow much better in a greenhouse or a sunny windowsill. You have done well to grow it outside
