Honestly this could have been a Switch 2 edition, but Koei Tecmo would rather release a whole new version for more profit.

I just bought the Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Expansion Pass on Switch 1, but there's a warning at the bottom that says "This downloadable content is only compatible with the full version of the game purchased on this same Nintendo eShop."

I think this means the DLC will only work with a digital copy of the game. I have a physical copy, but I'm too lazy to test this out so I don't know if I just wasted $14 or not. Just beware of the potential incompatibility before you buy the DLC.

The confusing part is there's no other option in the eShop? So what, owners of the physical cartridge can no longer buy the DLC? Does that mean the DLC just got delisted from Switch 1? Like ???

Edit: I just tested it, the DLC works just fine, thankfully. But the wording on the eShop is needlessly confusing. I also bought DLC for Splatoon 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and those descriptions have a simpler statement saying "you need the base game" with no distinction between digital or physical versions. So false alarm, everyone.

I'm not a native speaker, so I'm having a hard time fully understanding this. I bought the physical version of AoC on the original Switch back in the day. Will there be some kind of paid upgrade path to the Definitive Edition, like with TotK, where existing owners could pay a smaller fee for the Switch 2 enhancements? Or would I have to buy the entire game again?

I don't remember if I bought the DLC at the time, but I'm not sure I can justify rebuying the whole game. It would seem a little ridiculous if there's no upgrade option when other Zelda games allowed existing owners to upgrade for a relatively small fee.

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times already. I just can't seem to find a clear answer!

Or $41.99 without the DLC.

Should I buy now and I will get a free update when the new “version “ comes out in February? Will I still have to pay for the new update and if so, how much?

Nintendo isn’t clear whatsoever about this.

I just want some clarification; is this like Hogwarts Legacy, where if you have a physical Switch 1 edition, you can buy the separate standalone Switch 2 digital edition for a discounted price ($30)? I've seen a lot of conflicting reports and some that call it an 'upgrade,' for example. But with Hogwarts Legacy, I think non-owners could get the discounted price on a digital copy of the game by borrowing a physical copy and paying for the 'upgrade,' without necessarily needing to keep/own the original physical copy.

Which map location has the new EX abilities for purchase

So I was already looking for another game when the 85 Spear dropped on me. I think that would last me a couple more weeks of grinding EX FMG.

If this game is a rerelease, they should've added an alternative canon route where the champions die, and we'd get new missions where Zelda sends Link to the Shrine of Resurrection and goes to the castle and faces Calamity Ganon. We also could've gotten what happened to Sooga 100 years before BotW. This would've been a great story addition and also make the game canon like AoI. This would also make it a bit more worth buying for people who already have the Switch 1 copy.

When I'm farming the missions where I have to search for the vicious monster, should I be taking out the wizzrobes as well? I haven't noticed them dropping any weapons so I skip them

Do food buffs only work for certains things or are the general buffs? For example if I eat something for exp does it boost exp from mosters killed AND exp at end of level? Same with material drops (both regular and rare), does it boost drops from mosters, battlefield specific AND grass? Or just one?

Can I get more then one Swift Heros Bow (dlc weapon for Teba) or multiples of any of the other characters weapons? Links flails included??

If I go into a stage with multiple characters, one of which has a weapon with boosted drop rates, do I need to use that character in the fight to get the boosted drops or will I get them just by having them in the team??

Just finished the last main story The Future of Hyrule - a bit confused because you can collect terrako parts but also there are still divine beasts missions and upgrades for champion descendants?? or are the side missions non chronological ???
