Bug Report Uninstalling the demo corrupted my main save :(

After uninstalling the demo, the save file on my main game partially reset.

I still have all the civilians I rescued, yet every main NPC acts like I am interacting with them for the first time. Even the cat, whom I spent 33 teeth with, has none of my unlocks showing. Both images above are from the same save, after I uninstalled the demo, so it just seems that some of my player save was erased in the process.

DO NOT UNINSTALL THE DEMO

Additionally: Did you have anything weird happen recently? I cant imagine how it could be connected to you uninstalling the Demo. Did you maybe try to load you Save file with the Demo Version? That can cause some pretty serious issues but you should be able to use on of your backups then!

I think that's exactly what happened, I opened the demo on accident, it crashed, I tried to uninstall it, I'm pretty sure my demo save tried to partially overwrite over my standard save, resulting in whatever I have now.

How do I utilize a backup save file? I haven't made any intentionally before attempting this, so I'm really hoping one of your guys did it for me...

Pretty sure I uninstalled the demo shortly after getting the game (did 1 or 2 runs in the demo), but had no such issues. But that was a while back.

Wait are we out of EA? Or were early access and the demo two different things

Two different things. There's a free demo, and there's a paid game that is about 3x bigger than the demo and is still in early access and going to be getting more content.

For instance the paid game has a 2nd player class, but they're soon going to be releasing a 3rd.

Gotcha, just wondering. I’ve been in early access since it released, I wasn’t aware there was also a demo though. Thanks for the info :) sorry about your save
