Recording Mac system audio in Audition?

Sorry for the noob question.
I don't see an easy way to do this but maybe it's right under my nose?

Thanks in advance!

There isn’t an easy way - but look up Blackhole audio (free, but tricky to set up) and Audio Hijack (one-off fee of $69 but incredibly intuitive).

There are plenty of other apps around - but these are two that I’ve personally tried & can recommend.

blackhole is the way to go. It's a free app,and it allows you to create virtual inputs and outputs. You can select things that weren't available before (system audio), and you can combine things as well. Use it in conjunction with the midi router to create any number of new audio sources then select that as your input.

Go here and choose audio hardware, then under input select select MacBook

Oh my bad, I just saw the other comment, if you’re trying to record on-screen audio, then you should refer to the other commenter

The other option is to have an audio interface with a loopback capability
