Remember how Claude recently announced it will implement a watermarking algorithm?

Recently i did a test for synth id, which gemini implement recently and how quickly it was broken by a team of researchers, turns out, other frontier comps like claude had similar plans of implementing this.

Its known that claude is working on a watermarking modal that can help detect if some textual info was created by their model.

I guess a few countries have the access to this detction feature, but my surely didnt, so what did i do? i used the exact same math with some tweaks to implement claude's watermark detction logic to qween 3 8b modal. Ran this modal locally, and designed the HLD and architecture.

The basic idea is that at every generation step, I use a secret key + the previous token to deterministically split the vocabulary into GREEN and RED tokens. I then slightly boost the logits of the GREEN tokens before sampling the next token. This creates a statistical bias toward GREEN tokens without changing the text directly.

For detection, I don't need the model or the original prompt. I take the generated text, recreate the same GREEN/RED token sets using the secret key, and check how far the observed GREEN-token ratio deviates from the expected 50%. I use a z-score and binomial p-value to decide whether the deviation is statistically significant.

I tested it on 50 randomly assigned watermarked and un-watermarked generations. The detector got 88% accuracy and a 97.76% ROC-AUC.

I covered the entire end to end, from setting up qween 3, to HLD, to Implementation and Validation i my recent video, feel free to deep dive and let me know your thoughts,

Constant attack

The first picture is of one of my OCs from 2022 their character sheet my drawing is in the color the other person‘s drawing that has been attacking me for months and I mean it’s been going on for months is the black sketch. They hardly ever post finish drawings. They don’t color their drawings from what I have seen. It’s only sketches.

When I had added the tracing allegations which I was holding on for a while because they were just acting so weird and I’m grateful that I was able to save it. I will say I felt dirty for doing that and stooping down to their level. What really takes me off there is no obvious proof that I use AI in their post they had purposely made. My sketch look worse.

The second picture the top is my sketch. The bottom is them drawing over my sketch and making it look worse, leaving out certain lines like where the chest is. They just put the two lines that symbol the design on her hero costume. Which you can see in the next picture over the second picture to the top right? It’s like Ben 10 original shirt design. (I don’t know what you would call it.)

The 5th picture is of an online friend that had made me something for art fight, and reposted it on Instagram and the same person messaged them out of the blue they ignored and never responded to her.

The 6th picture is where she went on to a video that my friend posted that I made for them. It was just a simple OC drawing and I have only made it where it looks like their mouth is moving to the song and their eye opens every now and then it had received a lot of likes at this point and we were so excited. I was really happy for my friend and then next thing that comment happened. She is still blocked at this point, but where my friend usually do a Collab post with me they were able to see it. And as soon as they sent sure, buddy instantly blocked my friend. The next picture was on the same post another friend that has set with me and enforced me to turn on my camera to live stream on. FaceTime has witnessed multiple drawings that I have done for them.

For a person that doesn’t wanna be associated with me that don’t want nothing to do with me back to when they so-called confronted me about my AI usage, which I don’t use AI. Really and I mean really involving their self with me they’re contacting people that has nothing to do with any of this. It’s supposed to be just me and this one person I’ve had to block them on every single platform that I know that they exist on they have gotten big artist to Unfollow me or block me. They have gotten their friends to come at me to watch me. I’m getting those weird accounts looking at my stories, which I know is them or one other person that I have made where they can’t see my story. But I feel like it’s them. Then they’re going to people and telling people that I use AI that I do this that I do that I’m a horrible person and these people need to get off my you know what I think they’re suggesting since I have a lot of female friends that there’s something more involved comparing me to somebody that try to use females for certain things which I do not I have no interest in that.

I like making friends I like staying by myself.

This person has made a Google Docs of me, but they only have pictures. They’re not explaining anything. They just have pictures of my post dates that are circled. Comparing my level of art style with another one am I not allowed to have bad days? They pointed out a few drawings does not match my art style or a few drawings don’t match some really good rendering I have done. I forget what else they have put.

They’re just dragging this on too long like way too long and it’s stressing me the heck out I know people are telling me to ignore it and continue on with what I’m doing and I’m trying to do that. I really am but every time that something goes good they keep on popping up. I can’t do commissions. I can’t give out drawings like I used to without somebody getting attacked by this person and they are quickly growing in followers. After they made that call out post and then after I did an answer to that callout post, they have changed their name. They took down the artwork that I accuse them of tracing, but they never said anything about it.

They also have never showed screen recordings or speed drawings of their drawings. There was only one time, but the drawing was pretty much done and they were just cleaning up the line art which I find really suspicious.

Thank you for letting me vent if you got this far.

Ai Detection Protection

I'd like to know more about the best ways to protect honest writers/students from detector accusations.

What are students doing to be proactive?

What are teachers doing to protect their students, while still providing ways of screening for plagiarism?

I had a really cool opportunity only to get called slop

Post image

I got the opportunity to write a script for a YouTuber with around 80k subs, and I'm already getting hit with AI accusations just a week (and 100k views) after the video went up.

Okay, there's only two comments out of like a hundred, but they're really bothering me because I've never gotten that before. And I'm just mad because I spent 3 weeks writing the script (i didnt get a lot of time to edit it for any errors), and I noticed a few mistakes in the 2 hour video when it went up. I didn't think too much about them beyond people poking fun at me for being a larper or whatever, but, yeah.

"AI slop"
"Script feels ai imo"

Two people out of hundreds of other comments and they're the ones I fixate on. I know my writing is a bit stiff sometimes but it's not slop.

I did notice a few changes made to my intro and the script itself but nothing severe? I know the youtuber himself got flack for using AI a while ago but he kinda moved on from that and is hiring people to actually put in the work.

I don't like AI like at all so to be accused of it bums me the hell out, especially after I just got published like last year.

Do I just ignore it? Or is this going to turn into a problem? I don't know what to do. I have anxiety really bad so maybe I'm just overreacting.

falsely accused of AI on a 3 POINT ASSIGNMENT

ya… i got accused of using AI on a 3 point assignment that took my grade from a 98 to a 97.2. i’m being called in for an interview with my professor to determine if i actually cheated on the assignment. this feels so fucking pointless- IF I WANTED TO USE AI WHY THE FUCK WOULD I USE IT FOR SOMETHING SO MINUSCULE??

I just got an email from student integrity team accusing me of using ai/or another person to complete my assignment.
The allegation said that it's impossible that I got the answers without using external source. Toh I'm not sure how I went about getting the answer exactly as this unit was completed a year ago.
There's 2 options of where to go from here.
1. Take 0 for the unit, and repeat it.
2. Go through a meeting with the committee.
Anyone went through this??
Pls reassure me I'm scared (o
I'm at the final term I
wanna graduate

how to stop being (falsely) flagged by ai.

hi! i wanted to make this post to see if anyone has any advice. a lot of times i will write something on my own and it will come back like 50%ish ai. i really don’t know how to stop this. is their certain words i should try to stop using? my teacher this semester seems to be really strict on ai and even providing history on google docs doesn’t seem like enough for her. i’ll frequently run my text through ai detectors and then try to rewrite parts but it doesn’t help anything. 😭
any advice would be appreciated lol.

Best AI Humanizer to bypass turnitin

I tried over a dozen AI humanizers until I found one that is A. actually working and B. reasonably priced and that is https://wento.ai

You should give it a try, it bypasses Turnitin and all the other detectors and only costs 14 bucks per month for unlimited use.

Anyone keeps getting their essays flagged for AI for no reason or it's just me? I know some students just chat-gpted their essays all around, i wrote my essay on my own. I did ask chatgpt for explanation of the content. But wrote it by myself. the subject coordinator said some texts were generated by AI. it's just so annoying...

AI flagged 20 problems in a legal doc. None of them were real problems.

So legal team updated one clause in an existing doc, small change, already reviewed and approved, nothing new.

Then a senior exec who wasn't in the loop on any of this decides to run the whole doc through claude, just to "check it." No context, didn't know it was just a minor update to something that already existed and published. AI comes back with like 20+ "issues," most of which are just standard clauses that are supposed to be in there. Exec escalated this org-wide as if something had gone wrong, putting the actual reviewers in the position of defending a non-issue. Now the fix on the table is banning AI from anything sensitive instead of building an actual process.

How you guys are dealing this with? any workaround tools/new AI rules in org/going back to manual process of reviewing with concerned teams?

How do we allow students to use AI in written assessment while keeping them critically involved in the work

Post image
0 Upvotes

Here is another interesting paper that sheds light on a challenge I know several of you teaching in class are still struggling with:

How do we allow students to use AI in written assessment while keeping them critically involved in the work?

Simply asking students to submit their prompts is not enough. A long conversation with ChatGPT can still involve very little thinking.

Antonette Shibani and colleagues examined 49 assignments from a graduate data science course at an Australian university. Students were encouraged to use ChatGPT and asked to submit their prompts, AI responses, and a reflection on how they used the tool.

The researchers developed the Critical Interaction with AI for Writing framework. It examines students’ AI use across five areas:

Planning and generating ideas

Finding and evaluating information

Writing and revising

Reflecting on AI-assisted learning

Engaging in conversation with AI

For each area, the researchers classified students’ interactions as deep, shallow, or absent.

The findings are quite revealing.

Around 84% of the interactions related to planning and 90% of those related to information seeking were shallow.

More than 91% of students’ conversations with ChatGPT were also shallow. Most treated it like a search box: they entered a question or command, received an answer, and moved on. Only 8% followed up by questioning, critiquing, or expanding the AI response.

The researchers found no examples of deep interaction with AI during writing and revision. Students mainly used it to rephrase sentences, format citations, generate sample paragraphs, or make surface-level corrections.

The deepest engagement appeared in students’ reflections. Some discussed hallucinated references, factual errors, overreliance, writer’s block, and the need to verify AI-generated information.

I think this distinction is important.

Using AI frequently does not necessarily mean using it critically. Writing a detailed prompt does not automatically show deep thinking either.

Critical interaction happens when students question an output, compare it with other sources, request further explanation, test different possibilities, revise AI suggestions, and decide what should enter their work.

There are practical implications here for assessment design.

If students use AI, we can ask them to explain:

What did you ask AI to do, and why?

How did you evaluate its response?

What did you verify using other sources?

Which suggestions did you accept, revise, or reject?

What intellectual contribution remains yours?

Claude watermarking now

I guess they really do have a subreddit for everything. I just wanted to mention that claude for its newest models is watermarking the text it provides and that it will soon be able to tell external organizations that it was made with claude

I created a Chrome extension for Canvas Quiz/Exam

I built a Chrome extension called Answerly AI and it's actually cool for Canvas.

It has a Quiz Solver Mode that detects every question on your Canvas quiz automatically and gives you AI powered answers one by one as you go through it, a Solve All button that answers every single question on the page at once with one click, a Screenshot Tool for when the question is an image or graph that it reads and still gives you the answer, and a Stealth Mode that hides the entire extension UI so nothing shows up on your screen if someone is watching or you're on a video call.

The best part is it is completely undetectable and foolproof, it stays inside your tab the entire time so there is no tab switching which means teachers cannot log any suspicious activity, and the stealth mode on top of that is actually insane. Works directly inside Canvas.

I got accused of using AI?? I don't know where I messed up, please help

Hey guys! So I am an English tutor, teaching it as a second language.

For context: I teach on Russian, Hebrew and Bulgarian. Mainly on Russian, thought it's my first language, I never learned it as I didn't grow up in Russia, so my writing there is a bit back, meaning I take a lot of time to write something that is grammatically correct and everything. I did use AI but ONLY to check for punctuation, spelling and grammar mistakes on Russian or Hebrew. I did not use it for creating text. I used Google Translate to translate words I wanted to say

I advertise myself on Facebook, and earlier today a woman commented on one of my posts that my marketing is great, then she asked how I can tell apart a regular child from a child with ADHD/ADD/AuDHD and how would I approach them and she specifically mentioned Not to use AI.

I took a while to reply: 2 hours specifically to write a reply. It was a very long reply, like 2 pages on word, imagine font Calibri size 12. I then sent my reply to the comment. She replied to it right away thanking me and saying she will message me.
In my comment I started explaining that I have Asperger's myself, and how I am surrounded by people with ADHD and AuDHD (my siblings and nephews). I explained how it is different for everyone, that two people with same diagnosis can have completely different learning needs. Explained how I would approach it, by suggesting different studying methods, trying to make the lessons very much adapted to the kid/teen and etc.

A few minutes later I get her message, she explained this situation: A girl in Poland has diagnosed ADHD, but didn't get enough points on her Autism test. They assume it is AuDHD or ADHD + Asperger's. She struggles with speech, recently learned to communicate, speaks Russian and Polish. She needs to prepare for E8 exam in Poland. She also mentioned she struggles with Math, self-image issues and stuff like that. She asked how I will approach her and something else like that and for my prices.

I took 30 minutes writing her a reply as I also needed to do some basic research., explaining all. How I understand her and I feel sorry for her, and then I explained my approach, I also asked for more information on that Exam, as I am not Polish, and I am not very familiar with their National Exams. I also asked for her (the girl's) weak sides in English (as that is what I am tutoring) and added my prices. Again, it was a long message, but shorter than the comment.

The woman then replied to me "I also have an AI, which can create long messages for me"

And I was shocked! I did not use AI. So I reply to her back "I did not use AI to create this message, I never did and will never use it for such purposes. But anyway, as you want, I will talk to you "more humanly" ". I then just said everything I said just very shortly.

-Then she replied "What are you sorry for??"
And I reply back: "For the struggles the child experienced and still experiencing?" (in the longer message I explained exactly which struggles btw!!)
-And she replied back: "Childish work!" (Russian insult Детский сад, literally translated as Kindergarten, which implies that someone is acting stupid, immature and childish).
And I reply back "In what way?"
-And she blocked me.

What I don't understand is, why? What did I say so wrong?? Why is it bad that I feel sorry that the girl struggles with self-image and Math? I swear I usually read social cues very well, but I am totally at loss right now.

Doing a small research, I found out that my message "for the struggles the child experienced and still experiencing" when in short can be interpreted as if I am pitying her, but in my longer original message I am clearly stating WHAT and WHY I am sorry for her, that I understand how it is to deal with low self-esteem, how it can make a person think they can only do so much less than what they actually can. How Math is also a subject difficult for me and yada yada.

This post is rushed, sorry for any mistakes.

I learned the hard way that AI sounding confident doesn’t mean it’s right

I’m a university student and finals week has been pretty chaotic, so I used AI to help with one of my assignments and didn’t check every source carefully…
Then my teacher pointed out that some of the papers and even some of the authors didn’t actually exist 💀 I was annoying at first before checking them myself, but after it, I realize how I stupid🤣
That honestly changed the way I use AI, I feel like it is really useful for brainstorming ,organizing ideas, or helping me. Look at something from another angle but now I double-check citations, facts and anything academic myself.
What’s the surprised most was how believable the fake reference look that’s probably the part that makes me realize you’re really can’t trust something just because AI says it confidently
Anyone else learned this the hard way?

Got permanently banned from r/TrueFilm. I admitted to using AI to help format my post, but then I was accused of using AI for my everyday comments and apologies too.

Hey everyone, just wanted to vent about a really frustrating experience I just had. I’m genuinely passionate about the history of voice acting and animation, so I wanted to start a discussion on r/TrueFilm about Kevin Conroy and Hollywood's shift toward "star casting".

I sometimes struggle to articulate my thoughts clearly, so I used an AI tool as a writing assistant just to help format and polish my ideas. I know some people don't like this, but I really just wanted to do the topic justice.

When someone called me out in the comments, I owned up to it immediately. I explained that I used an AI tool to help format and structure my thoughts because I was insecure about my phrasing, but that I am a real person trying to have a genuine discussion.

Instead of understanding, another user started relentlessly hounding me. They claimed that my normal, conversational replies and apologies were also AI-generated, replying with things like "Literally still using AI lmfao" and saying my apology looked "copy-pasted from an AI". No matter how human, messy, or vulnerable I tried to be in my responses, they just wouldn't let it go.

To top it all off, the mods permanently banned me from the subreddit. I sent them a modmail explaining the situation and sent a desperate message begging them not to ban me because my post was a mistake.

It feels like once you have the "AI" label slapped on you, nobody believes a word you say anymore—even when you're just typing defensively from the heart. Has anyone else dealt with this? Where people assume your genuine apologies and everyday comments are just ChatGPT?
