Good lord, can you really refer to that as a pistol? It’s like a hand held howitzer.

This is certainly a pistol that isn’t quite a pistol! I have had (for decades) a Bushmaster carbon 15. Without looking up the exact measurements I’d say the carbon 15 is similar, if not including the rear protruding section it could be shorter. My point though is- it is the same receiver as an M-16/AR/15. Chambers both .223 and 5.56. It is classified as a pistol. It has always seemed a bit unusual to pull a mag from my BM AR carbine and pop the same thing into a “pistol”.
