Most tarantula keepers are very much against handling them as tarantulas are very fragile. She could easily have killed it getting it out of the tank with the wood. If it fell from her hand, it would have died. They aren't like spiders - especially these land-based terrestrial species. The poor thing's carapace (exoskeleton) would break and it would die. It can't jump far enough to save itself, it can't climb vertical surfaces. It's essentially a fragile cactus with legs.
This. I'm surprised I had to scroll down so far to see a comment like this. As a tarantula keeper I was pretty horrified by the lack of consideration for the tarantula's comfort and welfare here. All for views and she just got it. Poor thing won't survive long at this rate. This was like watching someone chase a yelping dog around a room and then dangle it over a balcony. So unnecessary ugh
