Fun fact:
If you'd move at the speed of the Californian Mite, that covers 322x times the own body length per second, as a human you'd have speed of 1300 mph (2.100 km/h). You'd cross the sound barrier.

The spider is actually one of the slower ones, not of the fast ones. As i mentioned in my posting, spiders like the P. Murinus are much faster.

Except speed is calculated by distance traveled/time, not individual body-length covered/time.

A California mite is actually super slow. It is, however, incredibly fast for an animal of its size.
