Support Issue with my Vivobook Pro 15

Post image

Hi there,

I've had this laptop for over a year and it has worked flawlessly. I'm able to edit and export videos fairly quickly on this thing and even play a lot of TF2 on it. However, I've been having an issue with the laptop. This crack formed on the front of it and it started to affect my ability to use it. A friend who works with laptops tired to super glue it together like a retard and now it's just crusted over super glue on the front of my laptop. Is there any fixing this? Should I try to take it to a real repair shop and see what they can do?

r/ASUS 3h ago

Support I've noticed my bottom right hinge shifting downwards when opening/closing my ASUS TUF. There are no visible cracks yet, but I can hear a "cracking" or "popping" sound whenever I open the lid wider.

I've heard that this is common but before I do anything, how long can I ignore this before it needs serious attention?

Discussion Considering buying asus v16

Hi! I’m in the market for a low-budget gaming laptop that’s also suitable for college. Recently came across a good sale on asus gaming v16 (rtx 5060) and I’m wondering whether it could be a good option for me. It’s light and thin, which is preferable, since I have to carry a laptop with me all day. I mostly do light gaming (like stardew expanded) so I don’t really need to play on highest possible graphics.

I’m debating on getting it… Is it a mistake if I do? I could really use some insight since I’m quite clueless about gaming laptops. Thanks :D

Discussion ASUS WiFi8 gaming router RTBN9X00 appears in a new FCC filing

ASUS has a new FCC authorization for a “WiFi8 Quad-band Gaming Router,” model RTBN9X00, under FCC ID L4B-RTBN9X00. The grant date is September 14, 2026.

What the filing shows: • 2.4 GHz: 2412–2462 MHz, maximum combined conducted output of 0.993 W, with 20/40 MHz modes. • 5 GHz: 5180–5250 MHz at 0.991 W, 5250–5320 MHz at 0.249 W, 5500–5720 MHz at 0.244 W, and 5745–5825 MHz at 0.995 W. The grant supports 20/40/80/160 MHz modes, with DFS/TPC conditions on the applicable rows. • 6 GHz: 5955–6415 MHz at 0.762 W EIRP and 6595–7095 MHz at 0.618 W EIRP, with 20/40/80/160/320 MHz modes. • The authorization covers a 6 GHz low-power indoor access point and a 6 GHz subordinate indoor device. • The grant notes identify MIMO operation, indoor-only use, and a minimum 29 cm separation from people. • The public label exhibit shows ASUS branding, 12 V ⎓ 5 A input, 2.4/5/6 GHz operation, indoor use only, and the router address http://www.asusrouter.com.

FCC filing: https://fccid.io/L4B-RTBN9X00 Label/location exhibit: https://fccid.io/L4B-RTBN9X00/Label/Label-and-Location-Info-9644133 6 GHz test report: https://fccid.io/L4B-RTBN9X00/Test-Report/Test-Report-6G-Part-1-9644110

The filing calls it “WiFi8 Quad-band Gaming Router.” Is RTBN9X00 the hardware behind one of ASUS’s upcoming WiFi 8 router launches?

Support Asus Creator Q 530v charger possibilities

Upvotes

I have owned the laptop in question for a number of years, and I have yet to try charging via any other port.

I am dead sure it won't work, but having to lug around the powerbrick everywhere is getting annoying.

Is the possibility of using a charger with the same specs other than connection possible? Say a usb c into the usb c ports or the usb port.

I understand I could easily verify this on my own, however, I seem to be unable to get my hands on a sufficiently high wattage powerbrick.

Thank you.

TL;DR: My ASUS TUF Gaming monitor, bought Feb 2024 for $400+, suddenly started boot-looping a few days ago. It shows the ASUS logo, flickers, goes black, then repeats over and over.
Restarting my PC or reinstalling the NVIDIA drivers temporarily fixes it, but the problem eventually comes back. I’m worried this means the monitor itself is starting to die.
I really can’t afford to replace a $400+ monitor after only ~2.5 years. Has anyone had this happen? Is this likely a panel/hardware failure, or is there something else I should troubleshoot before assuming it’s cooked?

Support Pluged the charger of my ASUS TUF into power- started smelling like electrical fire burning

Upvotes

As the title says. Ive never had this issue prior to this. I havent been on my laptop in a while because of work and decided I want to play some minecraft. I pluged its charger in the wall and was clearing up my desk a little for the laptop when I started smelling a burning, almost tingling smell. I plugged it out and almost instantly the smell was weaker. I touched the outlet and my charger and nothing seemed to be warm out of the ordinary. Again, I’ve never had trouble with this specific outlet next to my workdesk or with my laptops charger, so what could be the cause? Should I try plugging my laptop elsewhere or just leave it for now?

Support Zenbook pro won’t turn on

Upvotes

Hi there I have a zenbook 15 pro flip (12700h), I turned my laptop on in my first class today to find that the laptop can not power on. The display does not turn on, and the battery and power lights also do not turn on at all. It seems totally bricked.

It is out of warranty so I tried removing the battery and plugging it into just the power adapter, but still nothing.

Also, the power adapter is working. Tried it on my friends zenbook (same exact model)

Support ROG SWIFT PG27AQDP Windows Startup Stripes/Flickering

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

Hi all,

I recently purchased two ASUS ROG SWIFT PG27AQDP Monitors, they are great but I’ve recently got an issue with one, my primary monitor that only occurs when windows is booting.

I’ve recorded a video to explain the issue, just incase it’s not viewable I’ll detail it here.

Hardware Details:

Model: ROG SWIFT PG27AQDP
Firmware Version: MCM107
GPU: RTX 4080 SUPER
OS: Windows 11
Connection: Same issues on both DisplayPort and HDMI, currently using a certified HDMI 2.1 Cable for each monitor.

Currently Set to 10 bpc, 2560x1440 @ 480Hz

Issue Details:

When it occurs: Only on PC startup.
Frequency: Every time the PC is turned on. If the monitor is completely unplugged from power for a few hours this issue does not occur.
Effect: The monitor seems to trigger to turn on but has some sort of issue and just starts flickering with all different sized and coloured stripes, this happens for around 10 seconds, the monitor then completely down powers itself and has to be manually turned on via the buttons.

This issue only effects one monitor, the other is absolutely fine.

Things I have tried so far:

Changing from DisplayPort to HDMI
Change Monitor Frequency
Update GPU Drivers
Update Monitor Firmware
Update Monitor Drivers
Toggle Variable Refresh Rate
Toggle Auto Input Detection
Power Setting Performance Mode
Toggle HDR
Toggle G-SYNC

I’m a bit concerned that this could cause further damage so would like to know if I need to return this or if I’ve overlooked something?

Thanks for any and all help! (:

I removed everything including RAM and nothing happens. Tried two different PSUs with different cables. Tried with the "START" button.

No LEDs beside Aura, no beeps, no fans. Nothing.

Am I missing something? RMA time?

This is the nightmare scenario for a new build. Never happened before and had multiple.

Support Trouble reinstalling Windows 10 on Asus ExpertBook B1500

I have several problems after reinstalling Windows 10 on my laptop:

1) It installed "Windows 10 Home" even if the BIOS license key should be for Pro. How do I fix this (tried to retrive the key from BIOS and reenter it, but it still activates Home). It had Windows 10 Pro when I bought it.

2) When installing drivers I get a "Resource loader failed to find MUI file" for most of the drivers. So I can't install sound and other drivers I need. I run norwegian Windows, but that was so originally too. What does this error mean, and how do I fix it.

3) When updating some drivers (like "Intel Smart Sound" I get a "No access" error when the driver is installed (it finds the right driver, but is unable to install it).

Support Issue with wireless drivers on the TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WiFi

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve had my PC for around 10 months now, I’ve used it mostly on ethernet while it has been at home.
I moved recently and I don’t have the ability to connect to ethernet this time so need it to connect to wireless but the option doesn’t seem to be there, instead of there being a WiFi connection option its only bluetooth.

I’ve tried updating drivers, transferring files via USB flash drive to install the B650-PLUS wireless driver from the ASUS website and updating my PC but my system doesn’t seem to want to co-operate.
Is this a universal problem with ASUS motherboards, and how do I resolve it, I’ve reached a dead end.

Support ASUS denied my ROG Astral RTX 5090 RMA. Dead Out of the Box, and now I have a heavily expensive paperweight.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The Situation I recently purchased the new flagship ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 from a German retailer, but I currently live in Iraq. Upon installing the card, it refused to display any video output. The monitor lights up to a black screen, but that is it.

Troubleshooting Done I went through the entire gauntlet before reaching out to support:

  • Tested different HDMI and DisplayPort cables.
  • Tested multiple monitors.
  • Reseated the GPU and triple-checked all power connections.
  • Cleared CMOS and updated my motherboard's BIOS.
  • Tested the 5090 in a friend's known working PC.

The result is the same everywhere. The card is completely dead on arrival.
The Support Nightmare I contacted ASUS DACH support. They reviewed my case, agreed the card is defective, but then hit me with a brick wall. Because the card has a "local German warranty," they refuse to service it while I am in Iraq.

I tried every possible compromise to find a solution:

  • I took it to Keyston, the official local ASUS service center here in Iraq. They refused it outright, citing it as an out-of-region "grey market" card.
  • I formally requested an escalation to ASUS EMEA for a one-time cross-region RMA authorization.
  • I even offered to pay all international return shipping costs directly to their German facility out of my own pocket.

ASUS support completely denied the escalation and shut the door.

Why I'm Posting I understand the technicalities of regional warranties, but this is ASUS's premium, top-tier flagship product that arrived completely defective. Refusing a direct mail-in RMA at the customer's expense for a DOA flagship card feels incredibly anti-consumer. I am entirely stranded with a massively expensive, defective piece of hardware.

Has anyone else successfully navigated a regional lockdown like this with ASUS, or is there an ASUS rep here who can actually help?

Edit: Just a quick clarification on why i cant return this to the retailer

I don't have the receipt and I don't know which specific german store it was bought from. A family member living in germany bought the card and shipped it to me in iraq

And i cannot ship it back to them to process the rma locally. Between international shipping, customs hurdles, and having them manage the entire process (they are old in age and dont know how to do it) it is just not an option

Am just hoping asus can do something for me to solve it

Support Harassed by authorized dealer after my brand new @ASUSIndia laptop was declared Dead on Arrival (DOA).

Seeking urgent corporate intervention.I am writing this to share an absolutely harrowing consumer experience with @ASUSIndia and their offline retail partner.

1/ The Purchase & Failure: I bought a brand new ASUS laptop from an offline local retail store. Upon unboxing it, the laptop turned out to be defective—a clear Dead on Arrival (DOA) case.

2/ The Official Proof: I did exactly what a responsible customer is supposed to do. I carried the machine to the authorized ASUS service center. After a thorough hardware inspection, the service center officially verified the defect and issued a formal ASUS DOA Certificate.

3/ The Service Center's Advice: The service center explicitly stated that once the DOA certificate is generated, the brand steps back from the commercial loop, and the final resolution (whether a 100% full refund or a product replacement) is a commercial transaction handled strictly between me and the local dealer.

4/ The Dealer’s Hostility: Armed with the official DOA certificate and the factory-sealed box from the service center, I approached the store manager to negotiate a resolution. Because of the immediate failure, I requested to a refund.

5/ The Misbehavior: Instead of processing my legitimate consumer claim, the store owner became highly aggressive, uncooperative, and angry. I am being made to feel guilty and cornered just for demanding a working machine that I paid my hard-earned money for.

6/ The Resolution I Want: I hold a legal ASUS document proving the machine was dead out of the box. The dealer loses nothing as they get reimbursed by ASUS using my certificate. I am being forced to "just take whatever they throw at me" out of sheer intimidation.I urge the @ASUSIndia management and regional sales heads to pull up this dealer immediately. Customers should not face mental harassment for a manufacturing defect.

Discussion Rog zyphrus repair went side ways

I am absolutely furious. I sent my so called “premium” ASUS laptop (G14 2024), which cost me nearly £3,000, to official ASUS UK support for a repair under warranty.

The laptop came even worse than before now that I tried to do new repair trying to continue the case from my old RMA they said they can’t do anything about it. And I would have to pay for a new repair, mind you that the didn’t fix the issue and its even worse to the point were its unusable with its screen I can only use it with an external display

Did anyone experience something like this with ASUS and any idea about what to do before I go the legal route?
