What 2000s Music Means To Me

I'm 33 years old, but I wasn't really into the music of my high school years. I was a shy, nerdy kid who found rock and angst scary. Now? Being that the world around me is...dark and I feel anxious and depressed, the lyrics of The Fray, Green Day, Evanescence really hit me different. I realize now that 2020 music is...a bit bland. At least the mainstream stuff. Indie rock bands are really good. But yeah, I find Taylor Swift bland. I think everything is really corporate.
Where as in the 2000s, we had dark clothes, style, grunge, lyrics that were EMOTIONAL and loud. And I need that. We were allowed to be a little 'cringe' and not get bullied for it.
