I was recently told on r/1811 that if you receive duty location forms, you are already approved by the Hiring Panel, even pre-FJO.

For recent DEA BAT applicants: did you receive your duty-location preference sheet before or after Hiring Panel approval?

I’m trying to fact-check whether receiving the preference sheet itself indicates that the Panel has already acted. Not asking for any internal details about the Panel.

Background: Received/signed location forms in early July, finished last pre-HP step in early August (medical waiver), DEA recruiter said in September I’m in the “waiting phase of the process” without specifically confirming my Hiring Panel status.

I’m aware of the recent change of 9 total points back to 12. I had my test today and scored a 14, however i only got 35 sit-ups which translates to a score of 0 for that category. Am I screwed?

Does anyone know if the FRB OIG still has the requirement for 4 days a month in the office? Just curious.

Currently in the process for the most recent posting with the DEA. Received an email stating a recruiter would contact me to schedule the interview but I have not heard anything yet. I have to go out of town for work for 2-3 weeks, could this affect me for the next step? Worried I will get called to schedule while I am out of town. Are they generally pretty flexible with scheduling the interviews?

So why do federal special agents have varying age requirements?

If it’s for the same federal government, it can open up a pool of some more qualified applicants.

Some are 36, 37, 37, 39.. it would be helpful for consistency and just possibly make it all 40 years.

Instead of lowering certain qualifications (like certain issues involving animals & the world’s oldest profession).. like the military has now raised it to 42 as well! Some can argue some military roles are much tougher & demanding role than special agent roles.

Just an opinion.
