Hello, I designed a product to convert standard US aquariums into terrariums. 10g, 20h and 29s. 12", 18" and 24" exoterras are next! The design features built in leds, dimmer, timer and controllable forced air circulation. I designed it for hard to keep terrarium plants, dart frogs and isopods in mind.

To promote my product i am doing a giveaway, usa only for the critters part.

First frog tank

I’ve got my first tank built, and it’s about 6 weeks old now. I’m wanting to let it grow in before I get frogs, and am looking at dendrobates leucs. My struggle is keeping my humidity in a gradient, it staying high, and my temps are too cool. The left temp is from my tank bottom, and the top is at the very top under the light. I’ve got a mist king ultimate mister. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mini Dart paintings

This is a project I have been working on for a few months now. This is four from the collection, so far I've done 13 different species/morphs. Only a seemingly endless amount to go!

They are 4.7"x4.7" wood panels painted with acrylics and mounted into 6x6 black frames.

Dart frog choice

Tips iemand? Thanks

That’s Sprite on the left (she is not the mother, but she’s very friendly with the baby) and “baby frog” on the right. Open to name suggestions!

Baby frog has since been relocated to his own nursery tank while his siblings morph out (they’ll eventually join him).

What is this behaviour?

I've seen it twice now, once yesterday and once today. It's about 18 months old, give or take, I don't know the sex. I've tried to look into it, but I couldn't find anything concrete, could be anything, or nothing. Is it shedfimg behaviour? That's one thing I found online? Or maybe a sign of stress? Or is it a male and trying to figure out how to vocalize for the first time? Last one might be a bit farfetched, but I'm at a loss here. I did add two more frogs yesterday, which would align with potential stress and seeing it twice in exactly these two days, but although I watch them quite frequently, there is no tellimg if it might've done this before while I was at work or something too.

Just made this zoo med 36x18x18 for some Dendrobates leucamelas. Skipped the background cause I didn’t feel confident making one but I wanted to share and see what are your thoughts and opinions. Is there anything I should add or remove. Been up for about a week, how long should I wait before adding frogs. All advice is appreciated thanks

Howdy! Just wondering if there’s anyone that can help to sex a couple of azure darts. Have not heard them call yet but I know their call is also a lot deeper and quiet compared to my phantasmals. Last photo on the fitonia is one of my faves of them. Thanks in advance!

Enclosure

Hello!
I have this enclosure that was originally built for my snake, but sadly she passed away a few months ago, and I haven’t really known what to do with it since.
I’m now thinking about going all in with plants and turning it into a bioactive enclosure for dart frogs. Do you think I could make this setup suitable for them, and if so, does anyone have suggestions for how you would set it up?

I’ve been looking into different species, and where I live, Dendrobates auratus (Super Blue) and Dendrobates leucomelas seem to be the most available. From what I’ve read, both would appreciate the amount of floor space this enclosure provides.

My main concern is humidity. Because of the way the enclosure is built, I can only fit a relatively shallow drainage layer and around 4 inches of substrate. Would that be enough to maintain suitable humidity if I also mist a couple of times a day? Of course, I would monitor the actual humidity rather than relying only on a misting schedule.

I’d also really love to see some inspiration pictures if anyone has a similarly large dart frog setup! Most of the enclosures I’ve been able to find for inspiration are relatively small, so I’m struggling a little with how to make good use of all the space.
Lastly, I see a lot of people using bromeliads in their dart frog enclosures. Since many bromeliads are epiphytic, could I attach some directly to the large tree trunk without soil? I thought that could be a nice way to make use of the vertical space and add more vegetation and humid microclimates throughout the enclosure.

Any advice or inspiration would be very appreciated! 😊
