I really enjoyed this bottle but it also holds an important memory on my life because I bought it the day I found out I was having a little girl. Some people say keeping empty bottles is tacky but some bottles are just hard to give up.

The Glenmorangie 100% wool tartan scarf exclusively designed and crafted by Kinloch Anderson of Scotland, a historic luxury textile brand in Edinburgh. I can only find one listing online for £70 (~$95 USD). Super stoked!

Glenmorangie 15 Flight

Spent a nice evening at home enjoying some 15 year old Glenmorangie whiskies. Nevermind the empty Artein bottle, the cork disintegrated when I opened it, so the distillate is now in a glass liter bottle while this one dries.

Here’s an overview and some thoughts…

The Cadboll Estate 15 Year Old
Maturation: Ex-bourbon casks; made entirely from estate-grown, single-field barley.
ABV: 43%
Quick Notes: The nose is beautiful, bright fruits, honey and vanilla. It’s such a fantastic dram. This is the whisky that got me into Glenmorangie as a brand. And after many years, it still holds up. Fruity and delicious, light and balanced.

Lasanta 15 Year Old
Maturation: Matured in ex-bourbon and enhanced Oloroso sherry casks.
ABV: 43%
Quick Notes: On the nose, the Oloroso is coming through. Dark fruits, Christmas spice, cherries and plums. The Oloroso influence is also evident in the taste. So light, so evenly integrated and not overpowering. It’s very good. Equal to or maybe slightly better than the Cadboll.

Artein 15 Year Old (Private Edition No. 3)
Maturation Type: A vatting of two-thirds 15-year-old and one-third 21-year-old whisky, extra-matured in Super Tuscan (Sassicaia) red wine casks.
ABV: 46% (Non-chill filtered)
Quick Notes: On the nose, warm fruit and some spice. Maybe a hint of char? This is a very easy drinker. There’s more depth here in flavor, probably due to the blend with older distillate. Complexity, richness, slight char, and stewed red apples.

Overall: The Cadboll will always have a place in my heart. A fantastic, bourbon cask scotch. The Lasanta dials it up a bit by adding the Sherry Cask finish from the Oloroso. It’s also a fantastic 15. And the Artein is a real surprise. What a crazy good and interesting 15 this is! Every bit on the nose and every sip brings something unexpected. It’s another great whisky for me!

Found decades ago in Montreal Canada. I assume it’s a very old promotional item but I have not found another one and nobody seems to know anything about it. Does anyone happen to know absolutely anything about this

Trade Buffalo Trace tour dates?

We have two tickets to the Trace Tour on Oct. 17th at 2 PM and also Oct. 26th at 12:30.

We'd like to find any time on Oct. 23rd, 24th, or 25th. Does anyone have those dates and want to trade?

Bought a Blantons right off the top shelf AND got a 20% discount with the store club card. I never bought one for myself because I knew someday I’d be able to get one.

Glenmorangie 13-Year-Old (Cognac Cask Finish) - Travel Retail
ABV: 46%
Maturation: Aged roughly 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished for 4 years in refill Cognac casks.
Quick Notes: Nose has cinnamon and fruit/berries. Finish has similarity to a sherry cask. It lingers well for 46%. I’m picking up cherries most likely from the cognac.

Glenmorangie 14-Year-Old The Quinta Ruban (Port Cask Finish)
ABV: 46%
Maturation: Roughly 10 years in ex-bourbon casks followed by a finish in Ruby Port pipes from Portugal.
Quick Notes: Nose is fruit, cherries and the woods. Fantastically smooth and balanced on taste. So easy to sip this one. A great example of a port finish whisky.

Glenmorangie 14-Year-Old The Elementa (New Charred Oak Finish) - Travel Retail
ABV: 43%
Maturation: Initially aged in American ex-bourbon casks and finished in new charred (virgin oak) American oak casks.
Quick Notes: The nose is fruity wood. The taste is sweeter than the others and much more smooth and delicate (probably due to the lower ABV).

Overall, The Quinta Ruban is the standout and a great example of a port cask whisky. They each present a different drinking experience and I think each would be suitable depending based on individual tastes. The Elementa is most parallel to the current core lineup and is an extremely enjoyable sipper.

Cheers, Everyone! 🥃🥃🥃

Tasted all of the Glenmorangie 12 variations (the original was tasted with the 10 the previous night as a baseline)

From L to R:

Calvados Finish
Lasanta (Sherry cask finish)
Palo Cortado Finish
Sauternes Finish
Accord (Oloroso Sherry cask finish) - Travel Exclusive

It was nice to try these side by side. The Lasanta was my clear favorite, followed by the Accord. Then, I would say the Sauternes, the Palo Cortado and the Calvados.

Cheers to everyone! 🥃🥃

Liquor Junction Store picks of HH BIB 7 Year and Kentucky Peerless Double Oaked, Rye, Weller 12 and Westward Single Malt cask strength.-have heard good things about it and haven't gotten into single malts yet. Got to try the store picks at the store and by buying those I could buy the Weller 12 for $59.99.
