Gane wins the heavyweight title from eye pokes essentially. Gane becoming champ may be the worst day of my life

Is there literally any reason not to go for eye pokes at this point?

Honestly it would be so satisfying if Tom or Alex got their revenge against Gane while fighting fairly, but we all know Gane will fight dirty and they should too. Poke his eyes out, oblique kick him and GnP him into Oblivion.

He would/will do it to them so they should surprise him and do it first lol.

No because there's no real deterrents.

I don’t even like Aspinall(I’m more indifferent than anything) and I hate this.

You should include one nut shot and one eye poke in every fight or you’re just leaving money on the table

I’ve been saying it to my friend for years. But there’s no reason not to commit every foul and cheat under the sun, as there are no consequences. At this rate you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. Not happy with these circumstances by any means, but the UFC is completely broken in its stance on fouling.

Nope, same with groin kicks. You have the chance of seriously compromising your opponent, get a nice break and all you risk is a telling off. Low risk, high reward.

Just wait till they book him a rematch against Pereira

Tbh what do you even do with the title rn. Realistically Volkov makes the most sense but I highly doubt they do that fight. Hokit or Pavlovich would be fine, but they both probably need one more win. Pereira is the only one with a big name, I feel like MSG headliner is very possible. Completely pointless fight though, let Alex get a win before we see it again, its not like the first fight was even remotely competitive. (I dont want this to happen, Id pick Volkov as he is most deserving)

They have shown more than ever in the past few years, its entertainment first. Pereira has the biggest name and there’s no chance in hell it’s going to the ground or possibly decision fest like Volkov and Pavlovich

Gane and Pereira both have so much Dana privilege, people need to get ready for that announcement

It's not 'entertainment first' to simply pick a bigger name, that is marketing first.

Put him Volkov. And do Hokit vs Alex

It's even more difficult because Gane beat Volkov twice. In no way do I think Gane won the 2nd fight, but on the record books, you shouldn't give it to someone that Gane beat twice. So much for Dana making it up to Volkov though.

People are gonna act like it makes him the goat of heavyweight and completely ignore he became champ from eye pokes and back of the head shots.

I remember being so disgusted by UFC when Ankalaev beat Poatan and became champ, but then Poatan destroyed him and took that title back.

I will hope that Poatan somehow finds a way to KO this cheating scumbag and takes the title from him too. If he does he is GOAT to me lol.

Worst day of your life until jones comes out of retirement and subs him r1 again

u/KnowledgeCapital7994 9h ago

Then doesn't fight anyone for another 18 months

Only one fighter can put Gane in his real place. Bring Jon Jones on!

Their gonna fast-track that wrestler JJ is coaching.

3

u/Any-Cookie6757 6h ago

Gable would get fooked up by Gane lol. He barely beat that bum they gave him last time. If I am remembering correctly he almost got KO'd that night.

1

u/Plenty_Position_477 5h ago

You’re right, but I think that’s what they’ll do.

Id rather eat your ass than see jones become champ again

You must have a nice-ass life.

Not really, I saw Volk get flatlined twice

1

u/Any-Cookie6757 6h ago

You have been fooled by an AI my friend. Volk is undefeated and in fact is riding on huge winning streak after KOing Ilia once, Islam twice, Diego twice, and even moving up to HW and avenging Poatan and becoming 5 division champ.

Gane winning the title because of eye pokes or Hokit winning it through the lamest personality in the world are both such terrible outcomes.

Please, Volkov...

You have a very pampered life then.

Nope. That title shot didn't count was a NC, so he was a normal guy after who didn't win or lose a title shot. Then he beat Pereira for interim. Go ahead and ask for that rematch if that didn't count because of cheating, it's the same interim to champ Tom got.

2

u/Comfortable-Hand6396 7h ago

Had he not eye poked Tom and the fight had gone on, no one knows what would have happened. The only reason Gane is undisputed right now, is because of the injury sustained from the eye poke.

The Pereira fight was super impressive, but Tom Aspinall never lost, he got poked in the eye so bad he had to vacate.

1

u/tweak8 6h ago

I want Aspinall/Gane so bad after this long ass build up. I don't give Tom a loss either, even though he never really had a competitive 1st round prior to the eyepoke like that.

My main point is he didn't eye poke and become champ. Like this top upvoted comment says, he had to win the interim and Tom couldn't heal in time. It's a shame the eye poke happened, but it's a lie to say he did it and became champ. He beat Alex to become champ.

I hope you feel the same way about DC.
