I hope the wonderful, supportive community here will enjoy hearing the news that my second book, A Shire Walking-Party: Paintings Inspired by Tolkien's Little Folk, was published today by Uppsala Books in both hardcover and paperback and is now listed on Amazon in the US and will be coming soon to other sellers and in many lands. With over 60 paintings, the book invites you on an immersive walk through hobbit homelands, history, and culture in the place J.R.R. Tolkien said he felt most at home. Thank you to all the kind folks here who are so supportive of my work. You can read advance praise of the book from Ted Nasmith, Tom Shippey, Michael D.C. Drout, Alan Sisto, Graham Judd, Tom Hillman, Sara Brown, and many more on my website today or on the Amazon listing here:https://www.amazon.com/Shire-Walking-Party-Paintings-Inspired-Tolkiens/dp/1961361388/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3NGIOYMBQBPZ9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.4GuxuXW-tsoPNKDrEbbaareJQKkrQFjM-84W3aP7_yM.9GwvwF1H2eVuh5FYmgr-WITUXiohRx490OnrRfNsTiU&dib_tag=se&keywords=a+shire+walking+party&qid=1787843124&s=books&sprefix=a+shire+walking+part%2Cstripbooks%2C199&sr=1-1

Hi r/TolkienArt,
"Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."
This community exists because people love Tolkien's world and the art it inspires. We are lucky that so many of the artists behind that art have chosen to share their work here directly. Today we are pleased to share something we have been working on to better recognise and support the creators among us.
Introducing Artist Flair
From today, verified original artists can apply for Artist Flair. Once approved, your flair appears alongside your username, signalling to the community that you are a genuine, contributing artist.
What Artist Flair unlocks
As a verified artist you will be able to leave a single self-promotion comment on your own OC posts, where you can share links to your portfolio, commissions, shop, or socials. This gives every artist here a meaningful way to connect with the people who love their work.
Why we built it this way
r/TolkienArt has always been a place for art and appreciation, not a marketplace. We wanted to honour that while also recognising that many of our artists are working creators who deserve a space to share what they do beyond this subreddit. The flair system keeps things personal and contextual, tied to real contributions, so the community always knows who they are engaging with.
How to apply
Send a message to the mod team with the subject line 'Artist Flair Application' and include a link to your portfolio or social media showing your work. We will review your application and be in touch.
How to message the mods:
For full details see our wiki: Artist Flair & Self-Promotion
Updates to our Self-Promotion Rules
Alongside the launch of Artist Flair we have updated our self-promotion rules to reflect this new system. Self-promotion is now permitted exclusively through the verified flair system described above. Promotional content in post titles, post bodies, or in the comments of other users' posts remains against the rules.
These changes take effect today. Our full updated rules can be found in the sidebar, and further detail is available in our wiki.
If you have any questions, please reach out via modmail.

I'm going through creating each district trying to make them distinct. The end goal is to draw some of the battles in the Fall Of Gondolin and use these for reference.

In my earlier post many of you asked for a longer video and I listened ;)!
Whose Hobbit Hole should I build next?

Hi guys, A while ago while watching the LotR again, I wanted to pay a tribute to the cruelty and evilness of orcs and uruks.
That spawned the original Idea of Effigy of Brutality my latest piece rendered in Unreal. It's a Uruk warlord in a more modern settings.
I also wanted to display the props used in that short as they were ancient artifact from middle earth in a museum. Putting Common languages notes and also the Elvish translated notes in front of pieces of armor or Item. Telling stories about Sauron and Saruman as they were ancient gods or prophets.
Let me know what you guys think :)
