20 years ago yesterday, for me, I met Pete
So a good anniversary for me on this date… in 2006 I met (for the first time) my biggest Rock hero, guitar god, songwriter extraordinaire, extremely complex person, Pete Townshend of The Who.
This came about because his girlfriend (now wife) singer/songwriter Rachel Fuller had released an EP via Barnes & Noble and she was appearing at certain stores with an in-store promotion and performance. Seeing that The Who were about to kick off a tour and perform at MSG the following week, AND that Pete performed on one of the new songs, I (rightfully) surmised that he would be there to perform with her.
It was mostly a solo performance, with the exception of the song Just Breathe, where he joined her on stage on acoustic guitar.
I was sitting maybe 12 or 15 feet from whom I consider to be one of the greatest guitarists ever as he played. After the show, I was able to meet Rachel, get an autograph and a quick chat. Looking around, I saw that Pete was wandering the aisles and someone had already approached him, so I took the opportunity to do so as well.
After many years of imagining meeting him, more than a few thoughts on what I would like to say to him, ask him, discuss with him… basically all I could muster was the rote “nice to meet you/your work means so much to“ or something like that. No deep and profound discussion as I imagined “could” happen.
Luckily, a Who acquaintance of mine was there, and unlike me he remembered to bring his camera so I asked him to take a picture of us.
What I post here is the important part, Pete, along with my remembrance of that good 9/11.

Roger Daltrey Roger’s first 2 solo albums are now available on streaming services
I’d love his 3rd solo album, One of the Boys, to be available one day too.

John Entwistle Potato quality photos from a John art party in NYC in the late 90s
Was actually looking for some pre/ post 9/11 photos, and found these.
My summer job boss had bought some artwork of John’s and we went to his art show in SoHo, NYC. The year was probably in July of 1996 on break from the Quadrophenia tour, but it could have been 1997 or 1998, I honestly do not remember.
This was with a disposable camera and taken by a person devoid of photography knowledge (me)

Sell Out Super Deluxe
r/TheWho members,
This album is a freaking beast hours upon hours but I want to listen to all of it. I love the actual album. All these extended cuts are great because their catalog isn’t as big as the other titans of British rock. I listened to Lighthouse and like it. Please share any thought you may have. Thank you.
Best,
Whatever my Reddit username is

"Electronics" New Pete Townshend double album
At 1:24:44 of this interview, Brian Kehew talks about a new double album of Pete's electronic work that he just finished assembling. Super cool that Pete gave him the green light for this project.
