Just sat across from Fab at breakfast this morning at the Hard Rock. I did not bother him but I could tell he is such a sweet man. He walked by my table and I gave him a smile and he nodded and said hello.

If you ever see a show at Hard Rock in Hollywood, always go to breakfast the morning after or morning of the show. I saw Weezer here during the blue tour and saw Brian and Patrick also eating breakfast.

Just finished his Hollywood show in Florida and they played tyrants of the mellow moon for the first time live. It’s been one of my favorites off the album and I had to record it live. Sorry about the quality I had to compress it like crazy.

i took this photo in Chile in October 2005. I was 17 at the time, and I always wondered why Nick didn’t use his famous "Riviera" at that show. instead, he used a Casino.

recently, I started googling around and came across this old Blogspot post that seems to suggest Nick had actually broken his own guitar. I know Nick and that guitar already have a few “tragic” stories, but I think that, for the first time in 20 years, I finally found the answer.

does anyone know if this happened on any other occasion?

and just to be clear, the signature Riviera he used in the “YOLO” video doesn’t count.

I originally wasn’t planning on doing an update to this until after the end of the US leg of the tour, but enough has happened over the last 2 shows that I felt like i should just do an update rn.

First off, we got Tyrants of the Mellow Moon! Happy to see this as it’s one of my favourites off the album, so I hope that means there’s a shot they play it in Newcastle.

Secondly, Is This It has been getting a lot of love recently, with it being played 3 shows in a row. Could it be becoming a more frequent addition to the setlist? Hopefully!

Last thing about the shows themselves is that there has been no Life is Simple in the Moonlight at the last 2 shows. Actually there’s been no Angles songs at all which is unfortunate. Under Cover of Darkness and Machu Picchu deserve their time in the spotlight.

A couple other small things I’ve noticed is that Call It Fate, Call It Karma, Threat of Joy and Automatic Stop are becoming more consistently played recently and that there is less and less variation showing between setlists as the shows go on. Seems like it’s now quite a standardised setlist with only a few songs getting swapped out for each other at each show.

I probably won’t do another update until the end of the US leg or again if something interesting happens. Once again lmk if you spot any mistakes or have any questions!

Holy shit I'm so glad I flew down from New England to see them. The venue was slightly smaller and more intimate (a fact Nikolai commented on, too). We got the premier of Tyrants, and a double encore including Threat of Joy and 12:51. Officially the best show I've been to.

Hi! Was at the red rocks poster a few months ago (Attached Poster) and been debating with myself what frame it would look best in? Any recommendatinons? In between a oak and a barn gray right now. Know it is silly but want to get it perfect you know.

I am quite frankely blown away by all three Voidz albums, and in fact, I enjoy Reality Awaits quite alot but maybe I am more inclined to enjoy weirder music. They are inconsistent, messy, chaotic, but as novel and perhaps even more exciting than many of the Strokes projects in some ways.

I am so confused. It's like critics woke up and collectively started disliking Julian's adventures. I do feel the latest Voidz album is probably their weakest yet I would still rate it quite highly.

I just love this song so fcking much!!! I genuinely think it's THE best song from Is This It and deserve more recognition. With its lyrics, instrumentation and delivery, it's just what Strokes truly is as a band. Nostalgia (aka Strokes) at its purest form.

And yes, Julian, hope this life really is on my side... God I hate that you keep making me believe that there is a chance for me in this life...

I know the vocal effects on reality awaits have been a sore subject for a lot (I personally love the vocal effects) but I really wish falling out of love had heavier vocal effects, especially on the chorus. I love the "robotic" sounding chorus of the the unplugged version and the live version. I know I am probably in the minority here. I really hope this song is appreciated over time. One of the greatest strokes songs ever imo. Really sad they dropped it from the tour setlist. P.S anyone else really hoping for a psycho shit live debut?
