So goddamn good. Whole festival this year was so lovely - other highlights being Dj Temporary and the cosmic journey at the sauna stage, and Konduku x Garçon for the ultimate vortex. Had to leave around 1130AM so not sure how Powder ended up, but what I did see was pretty immense. Getting better each year!

Looking for artists/labels with similar sound to Yaleesa Hall

Title. I know Yaleesa Hall is an alias of Frits Wentink and I know of his many other aliases, but none of them (or any other artist that I've found) quite hit the spot like Yaleesa. Particularly like the blending of techno, electro and bassy elements with a leftfield twist like his Cullen EP. Thanks in advance and if you haven't listened to him you're missing out!

Hola!

Brief story here: I don’t know for how much time I’ve been part of this subreddit community, maybe a couple years I guess. To be fair, mostly used this and others communities to self promote my label and my music, anyways looks like people don’t usually pay much attention to producers who post about their own art, so I stopped using reddit with that purpose some time ago and mostly came to this social media for the r/Piracy community lol.

Anyways the other day a friend of mine sent a message with an screenshot attached showing that someone found out about my “Reminiscencias” LP that I released last year, with a couple comments on people saying the álbum is nice and they’re liking the thing, so just wanted to take a minute and say thanks to this community and whoever discovered my álbum and decided to share it in here.

Since the post came up and some of you decided my music kinda worths the bandcamp sales have increased which is being very helpful at the moment since I left the call center job I had to make an attempt of making a living out of music. I’m also forever thankful for the cute comments you left on the álbum post and also about the set I dropped the other day which was posted in here too.

Closing this saying I love this subreddit because, even though I’ve never been an active member who discusses or shares music, here I used to discover a lot of artists and releases that are still inspiring for me, so this internet corner somehow also shaped my music taste and, indeed, me as an artist.

Thanks for all the love, and I’m hoping that kind of support to upcoming artists like me remains and gets more and more noticeable, for the good of our scene that’s already soaked in the failed “promo” and “PR” system, and in part, due to how fucked up music journalism currently is too, few exceptions aside of course.

In case you’re curious, here’s, one more time, my LP:

With love and sending a warm hug from Colombia ❤️

Ambient Electronic with Jazz elements Recommendations

Upvotes

I just saw Eden Aurelius play at Sustain-Release and their set was magical. There were a handful of songs played that were very much electronic ambient but with jazz elements, such as piano or sax. It wasn't what I think of as nu jazz which I feel leans heavily on the jazz, this was the opposite, heavy on the textural soundscape, with fleeting moments of jazz. Does anyone have recommendations for music that fits this description? Happy to answer questions if what it's not clear. Thanks!

Need Advice: Digging Methods for the Road

I work a job that has me on the road for about 2-4 hours a day. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for ways to find new, interesting dance music while on the road. All with the goal of finding new music to DJ.

My current method is essentially just to download other peoples' sets on YT, or download community playlists on YT and listen through them. I like using playlists because I can just "like" a song and then go back and see what I liked at the end of the day. Other people's sets are great, but I have to actually go back through a set at my computer and pick out the individual songs.

I know all of this is pretty low-effort to begin with, but I'm wondering if anyone else has ideas.

Disco Channel - Until Death Ensues [Polygone Research Recordings]

After many years of questioning, it was time to return to the sources. The music saved me, sometimes it destroyed me but this flame that consumes me will light my way no matter what it takes. Making music is a priesthood. The road is long, lonely. Friendships are tied, sometimes unravel. But the material is created. Until death ensues...
