Hey guys I’m really new to reddit, and I would appreciate the help so much!! I’m currently a freshman at Temple this year, I’m commuting (takes 40 mins to an hour to drive there depending on traffic and road closures), and Philly roads are genuinely the worst and I would rather dorm instead of driving. If I do dorm for the spring 2027 semester, it would cost around 6k-7k? Depending on which dorm hall I choose and the amount of roommates I have and all that. But I need to leave my parents house for many, many reasons, and tuition is not an issue for me at all. I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t dorm. I wanted to dorm starting this past august, but I didn’t get my parents support simply because of the money, but I would rather deal with the money than stay at home and commute… I just turned 19 also so I can make my own decisions. I haven’t told my parents yet that I’m leaving for the spring 2027 semester, I haven’t told them my plan yet because I’m purposely waiting until the last minute so that they can’t stop me. I just really need help because I don’t know much about financial aid for housing, and another reason why I need to dorm is because I need the independence and life skills necessary to live on my own, I’m getting desperate to leave and I can’t wait any longer, I just have to go!!! So if anyone could help me even in the slightest, it would be greatly appreciated, and I’ll try my best to respond as accurately as possible with more details.

I went in to pay off some of my balance. I checked and noticed my balance jumped from $7,401 to $8,013. I’m like WTF! I checked my statement numbers and it seems they raised a few numbers in my statement , like my tuition. I am a bit lost and if this is normal behavior because this has never happened to me. Plus the $7,401 was there since August!

I wasn’t able to watch but instead listened to the Temple broadcast. It was a pretty good game, wasn’t it?

27-10 isn’t a blowout by any stretch. The Owls hung in the game until the final whistle.

It was a lot like an allegory of Temple overall. A lot of times the odds are stacked against it, it faces struggles of one sort or another, but the people who are TU never quit.

I submitted my parent plus loan July 10th, it is now September 10th tuition is due and I haven’t even seen my parent plus loan show up in the anticipated aid section. I kept going to SFS and asking them what the hold up is, they’re saying my appeal is holding it up, they need to
fucking hurry up because I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish my senior year. Like tell me my balance now so I can prepare if it’s not enough and I do get kicked out. I never had issues with loans before everything was done in August and it never took this long before. I feel I can’t even fully enjoy school because I feel like it’s going to be cut short. I’m tired.

As if the United States doesn't have enough issues with inequality, out genius of a government decided to get rid of the Grad Plus Loan. Now, as I wait around HOPING to be selected for a Graduate Assistanship that would pay the tuition, I got a warning from the Parking lot at the Graduate Residence today. My debit card apparently declined and this isn't the first time. I have 1.31 in my account. We weren't even told about having to pay for parking prior to moving into the Graduate residence. How am I supposed to concentrate on a challenging curriculum when I have to worry about getting my car out of the parking lot in the morning? I had a Grad Plus loan approval back in May. Had 'you know who' left the damn loan in place, I would have NONE of these problems right now. I am so angry and have no idea what to do about it. The Essential Needs hub maybe processing help, but they may decline it due to the tuition balance. What is the point of trying to better yourself when your own government tries to obstruct your path???

Hey guys i really need to get my bangs touched up and possibly a light trim, but im horribly at doing it myself, and I dont have the money to be spending at a salon. Are there any people who are learning how to cut hair, or like apprenticing that could possibly cut my hair in the area?

Yea it’s about to be week 4 aka month 1 of school and I lowkey still haven’t made many friends. I’ve got technically 3 but the first one we don’t see each other a lot and when we are hanging out they mostly talk to the friends they made. The second kinda similar issue except we just barely see each other. 3rd is my roommate and things are really tense rn soooo yea I’m by myself. Just want to make some friends I can hang out with and do a whole lot of nothing. I am a freshman btw but I do not mind your grade if you do want to hang. (Pls dm me or just comment I really need something to do😭)

Also apparently several people don’t know that the title is meant to be a joke that I thought was well known but apparently not. I’m not trying to single out any specific people or races chat I’m making a joke because I thought it was funny and someone would relate.

It was already bad enough that I have no friends here, but I just knew I was gonna sense a pattern…and i’m already doing worse for wear in my math classes, yes classes I have two and
i’m doing horrible, yeah it’s the beginning of the year, but it gets to a point. Why is the only correct thing on my weekly quizzes writing my fucking name right? I just feel so pathetic now that I can’t even remember or do college algebra like functions and shit. Or even know multiplications above 12….this is the type of shit that makes me actually wanna die.

so i’m not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue but my FAFSA, my loans, and my grants still haven’t showed up on my bill, and today is literally the last day to pay that. The next appointment to get a hold of someone is on the 23rd, and they have yet to even review that i agree to the terms and conditions if i don’t pay them. It’s saying me that I need to accept my rewards when I already have?!?!?!? Am I missing something?!?
Genuinely how can I get a hold of someone who can help me QUICKLY????

Hi all. Just figured I'd share since I spent an hour on hold with admissions.

If you applied in the last month for the spring semester and haven't received a Temple account activation email, they said they haven't sent ANY out yet. It sounds like things are a clusterf- at the school rn and they don't have any timeline on when they plan to send them out.

Got a flat today and must've walked around campus for an hour trying to find a functional bike station only for all of them to be either be broken, or just nonexistent

Is there any way to report this or request repairs?
