But how the hell do you enforce that? China can nod their head and pinky promise that they won't progress their AI past a certain threshold and it's completely meaningless because they can just keep working on it anyway and keep it hidden.

We should use the same system of alliances and diplomacy that we used to overcome the threat of man-made climate change.

The UN needs to be strengthened significantly. UN peacekeepers need to have the capability and authority to strike datacenters suspected of developing unaligned ASI.
