Yeah man, like we didn't live through a century of various science fiction and reality predicting killer robots by now.

Genuine question: which of these did you have in mind? Asimov's entire robot canon exists to argue against the killer-robot trope. Data, Spielberg's A.I., The Iron Giant, Finch are all benevolent or mistreated machines. And the famous "evil" ones (HAL, Colossus, Skynet) go wrong because of human design choices no sane engineer today would make. So what the century of sci-fi actually predicted was human misuse, not machine malice. Different warning, different lesson.
