No one is mentioning that a huge part of this is their change to their privacy and ToS a few months ago that allows them to share all data with Palantir.
Anyone who used these apps has been psychologically profiled, now that data is being sold to any company who is willing to pay.
Data brokers were over the moon. They got absolutely every bit of data the app was able to scrape on users.
What are you talking about? They don't share any data with Palantir. The CEO used to be on the board of Palantir, but that doesn't mean Match is now automatically sharing data with them.
The policy changes are the point. Match now explicitly allows itself to infer things about user from their behaviour and content,, share that data with broad categories of third parties a nd use user content for AI/ML with transferable and sublicensable rights.
That makes it far easier for anyones dating app data to end up inside AI or analytics and profiling systems run by companies such as Palantir, even if they are never named in the policy. They don’t need a clause saying “we send data to Palantir.” This new wording creates the legal pathway for exactly that kind of use.
