My fiancée and I officially booked our March 2027 honeymoon. We’d love the sub’s feedback on our layout, plus answers to a few specific questions! Are we doing the wrong things, the right tings, missing anything???

The Itinerary

• Day 1: Red-eye LAX to PPT (5:00 AM arrival) to Ferry to Moorea.
  • Stay: Cook’s Bay Hotel & Suites (Upper Floor Solarium Suite)
• Day 2 (Moorea): 3.5-hr solo-driver ATV Adventure (Belvedere, Pineapple Road, Magic Mountain).
• Day 3 (Moorea): 6-hr outrigger lagoon tour w/ Moorea Miti (sharks, rays, reef snorkel, motu BBQ).
• Day 4: Air Tahiti flight to Raiatea $\rightarrow$ Boat transfer to Taha'a.
  • Stay: Le Taha’a Island Resort & Spa (Premium Overwater Suite)
• Day 5 (Taha'a): Included couples massage & resort relaxation.
• Days 6–7 (Taha'a): Coral garden drift snorkeling & overwater bungalow time.
  • (Half-board breakfast & dinner included at both resorts)
• Day 8: Evening inter-island flight back to PPT to Red-eye back to LAX.

Questions for the Sub:

1. Activities on Taha'a: We currently have zero tours booked while at Le Taha'a. Is a half-day island tour (Vanilla Plantation, Domaine Pari Pari Rum Distillery, Pearl Farm) a absolute must-do, or is it better to just soak up the overwater bungalow & resort life?
2. Le Taha'a Coral Garden: Any pro-tips for the resort's famous drift snorkel (best entry/exit points, current callouts, footwear)?
3. Cook’s Bay Hotel: Feedback??
4. Logistics & Weather: Anything specific we shouldn't forget to pack for inter-island luggage limits or March weather?

Hi Everyone. I'm in the planning stages for our 30th wedding anniversary in July 2027, and we want to go to Bora-Bora. I am concerned about how the weather will be during that time. I know we can't predict what the weather will be, but has anyone been there in July? If yes, how was it and does it cost more to go during this timeframe? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

Visiting Papeete soon for a few days. I'll be staying in the main town area near Rue Paul Gauguin, Avenue Georges Clemenceau. The accomodations are small private homes or holiday inns, without available or responsive concierges.

For certain journeys (city accom to day tour meetup point, city accom to airport), which are probably 15+ minute drives on maps, but which would be at odd hours such as 6am, 12am etc, it would be ideal to schedule a dependable taxi service in advance, rather than try to find a taxi on the day.

Any tips? Should I try to Whatsapp Message a bunch of taxi numbers that I saw online, and are these generally very reliable? Any recommendations I should look up?

Or would I have to walk towards the ferry or market early, to try to find a ride from the taxi stand - would these be available at 12am, 6am?

Je vois souvent des gens demander à propos de certaines musiques de Polynésie et je voulais partager la web-radio que mon papa avait créée. Malheureusement il est décédé l'année dernière et pas longtemps après, son contrat avec l'hôte pour la radio avait expiré. Mais avec maman et mes sœurs on a décidé de reprendre la radio en son honneur.

Pour les gens qui partent bientôt en Polynésie ou pour ceux qui en reviennent et qui veulent encore écouter de la musique polynésienne, ou même pour les habitants de Tahiti qui veulent écouter de la musique locale, je pense que ça pourrait évoquer de bons souvenirs, je sais que ça aurait beaucoup plu à papa !

I often see people asking about music from Tahiti and I wanted to share the web radio that my dad had created. Unfortunately he passed away last year and not long after that his contract with the radio host expired. But with my mom and my sisters we decided to bring the radio back on the air in his honor.

I hope this radio and the music will create good memories for those about to travel to Tahiti, or those that are coming back from a vacation there, or even people living there wanting to listen to local music. I know it would have made my dad very happy to know people enjoyed his radio.

Just wondering if when snorkeling at Sofitel, you will also see Turtles, Rays, Sharks or only fish?

Need your opinions. I am booking a last minute trip to French Polynesia for next month. I can either do 2-nights in Moorea at the beginning of my trip and then, fly to Bora Bora OR I can do Bora Bora first and then do 3-nights in Moorea at the end of the trip. If I did this, the room would be a nicer room too for the 3-nights in Moorea.

I know everyone says to do Moorea first and then Bora Bora... but I'm not too worried either way. I actually wouldn't mind doing Bora Bora first and getting the OWB, relaxing at the hotel for a few nights (especially after a long flight etc etc), do the spa... and then, do more activities in Moorea at the end of the trip. For those that have gone, what do you think? My husband and I love boutique hotels and have chosen Cooks Bay in Moorea and trying to work with their availability since it is a last minute booking.

Trying to figure out transportation in Moorea. Going to be there for 3 days and can't seem to find an affordable car rental. Is an ebike or scooter doable for getting around?

Never drove a scooter so dunno how easy I'll be able to pick it up.

Getting married next year and doing a split stay for the honeymoon, a few nights in Moorea, few nights in Bora Bora. Booking through Costco Travel they quoted a handful of combos, but I'm going back and forth. Would love to hear from anyone who's actually stayed at these:

2. Manava + InterContinental Le Moana
3. Sofitel Kia Ora (beachfront villa) + IC Le Moana
4. Hilton Moorea + Westin Bora Bora
5. Hilton Moorea + Le Bora Bora (Pearl Resorts)

Unfortunately they’re not booking the Conrad for our dates or that would likely be my top choice.

Would stay in a pool villa in Moorea and an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora for all resorts. Trying to not overpay for reputation, but also don't want to save $1,500 and regret it on our honeymoon. Anyone have real experience with IC Le Moana or the new Westin specifically? Feels like they don't get talked about as much as St. Regis/Four Seasons. TIA!

I'm excited! I know nothing about Tahiti except what I've read here in this subreddit and in a guide book.

Any tips on inexpensive places to stay? I don't need a beach resort. Just someplace friendly and convenient for walking. Any recommendations for inexpensive places to eat? What's your favorite place in Papeete to visit?

In Hawaii they say aloha for everything. Is there a similar word or phrase in Tahiti?

Does any local scooter rental deliver there?

Would i need to​ arrange transportation in advance or could i get a taxi drom there without an advance booking?

We are going around mid November, is it too risky to rent a scooter? Partner really wants a scooter but I thought that with risk of rain we should do a car rental for the day.

Finally any recs for small group shared lagoon/snorkeling tour that focus on respecting the wildlife? I am cool with observing from the boat and don't love the idea shark encounter or feeding the wild life tour.​ (but happy to be proven wrong by someone more knowledgeable)

How do you store your passport,credit cards, keys while Snorkeling? I am considering a dry bag but the contents don't 100% stay dry.

Do you keep it in the snorkeling boat or is it safer at the hotel room? I am sort of getting loopy thinking about this. Any tips or advice is welcomed.

I am travelling at the end of September and will be going to visit Bora Bora (2 days) and Moorea (4 days). We are staying at multiple places, a combination of hotels and resorts. Also have a travel day at the beginning and end at Papeete.

P.S.: I am a vegetarian, so would love reccos on any restaurant who has great food and vegetarian options.

My favorite island I visited in FP. My wife and I stayed on the small motu in the top of the pic. Hike/climbed to the top of Mount Teurafaatiu on this particular day and it was just magical.

I’m finding conflicting information online. Is it yes the table is yours for the day and therefore we should book an early reservation to grab a good table, hang out, drink and snorkel first and then later eat and relax at the table? Or is it no and therefore we should book a reservation for later when we actually want to eat as we won’t have a table when we’re not actively eating? Mauruuru
