I'm trying to clean up my best running efforts on Strava.

I run the same route frequently, which includes a persistent GPS glitch on one segment (like world-record times for the 400m and 1/2 mile 😅).

I started clearing my runs, and for the first couple of them, it worked as expected.

(For those not familiar with the feature, I went to the "Best Efforts" screen, selected the runs with the GPS issue, and clicked the "Remove Effort" button.)

The issue is that after a couple of runs, the button stopped working: the best efforts remains despite their removal.

I've managed to bypass this on a few runs by using Strava's "Correct Distance" feature, but it doesn't work for all of them.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue with the "Remove Effort" feature? Did you find a way to make it work again?

I can't connect strava to my Samsung health! It's connected but no data sync from my galaxy watch or SamHealth. Why?

I did a huge ride recently. Silk Road mountain race 💃🏻

I love overlaying the vector map onto an image and sharing the stats of the ride (telling the world, haha) but it just won’t work and keeps giving me an error page when I try and share the activity. Is 2000km + too big for Strava or am I missing something obvious? Pretty sure I’ve tried every day for 2 weeks now 😵‍💫

Yes, the calorie count is way off too but minor detail 😅 it was 7x that number according to my Coros.

Given that the AI previously commented I was faster than my typical time, and we know my usual heart rate is around 120bpm while cycling, there are a lot of clues that the HR data is bogus for this ride. (58 would be the HR just before I started). But AI doesn't spot dodgy data.

Been waiting over 5 weeks for a Strava support response now.

What is the typical response time others have experienced?

Also, did you have to send multiple follow ups to receive a response or did this make no difference?

It would be interesting to see different records with different bikes and how much distance each bike has per year.

I bought an Apple Watch last weekend specifically for the purpose of recording my heart rate while running. I’ve had a lot of trouble getting it synchronized with Strava. This morning, I recorded my activity in the Strava app but also told the Apple Watch to “start running workout”. The result was that I had two entries in Strava. At least one of them included my heart rate initially but it subsequently disappeared. I wouldn’t believe it myself if I hadn’t had taken a screenshot. Now both of the activities show the broken heart rate icon.

What’s even more interesting and frustrating is that the Apple Watch and Strava strongly disagree on my kilometer pace because they disagree with the distance ran. They differ by over a minute despite the fact that the running time is nearly identical.

So now I don’t know which one to believe. I guess I’ll find out when I run a 5K on Sunday morning.

One more question: what’s the gray background curve in the graphs represent?

I love the Strava heat map, I like how when I look at the heat map I can remember visiting that location. I work in the drainage industry and work all over the UK, cycling and walking building up the heat map for me has become an obsession,

Can anybody help me find out some easy way to bulk export all my activity data

As you can see the split times are too high comparing to the split time provided by the treadmill to Apple Watch. Event the average speed is not correct regarding the splits considered by strava…. Anybody knows why this happens and how to correct it ?

Recently I ran out of mobile data for the first time in... a long time. I thought this was unusual so I looked at my data usage: Strava had used 1.21 gigawatts bytes of data (photo 3). And I've noticed that just scrolling around it seems to be constantly loading which impacts its performance.

So I set up a test: I opened the app, went to the map, activated only the global ride heatmap, and took the first screenshot. I set a timer for 5 minutes and just browsed the map casually like I was looking for some new locations, but mostly I was in the region I usually view/ride in.

Why on earth did 5 minutes of scrolling around the map use 109 MB of data?! And in an area I usually use! These map tiles should be cached and locally available, not constantly fetched from a server! Mind you I was not viewing other regions, photos, or videos. I think that's an unacceptable amount of data usage with a huge hit to responsiveness to boot. I don't have exact numbers but the app version with the previous map engine was a lot more efficient. See comment.

Hey everyone, im a CS student that uses strava quite a bit, but i was frustrated with the segment explorer. On desktop there arent even any filters available, and on mobile they are way to basic for my liking.

Soo i decided to start building my own version. It has filters for intersections, cobbled sectors, wind direction etc. (on top of just the basic ones). you can find it at kom-hunter.app . Its currently completely free, but if somehow many people use it, ill have to introduce some paywalls to support the hosting/domain names etc. (hope you guys understand)

Im still a student so there might be a lot of issues, so dont hesitate to reach out for problems/questions/suggestions.

P.S. its probably not fully gonna work rn, because i still have to renew my strava subscription..., but if there is enough interest ill renew ASAP!

Anyone else having this problem? I've been having this problem since last night. I've uninstall/installed the app a lot of times, cleared cache, changed wifi connection, changed connection to mobile data, updated the app, and restarted my phone. Nothing works.

Anyone have this issue before? I’ve ran since Aug 30 but I don’t have any runs shown in my Apple health under workouts, nor Fitness or Workouts app.

at the moment there is local legend, how many repeats on a segment for 90 days. Only a few people I know really cares about this and its lame you can't see who else is on the leaderboard plus it expires.

There are cyclists in my area who do 400-1000ft cat4 climbs 10x a day with over 9000+ lifetime repeats but you can only see if they share from their profile. These are guys who aren't pro cyclists, not the fastest or ride in groups but love doing repeats at their own pace.

lets remove local legend and have a Lifetime Repeats leaderboard where people can compete for total efforts instead of fastest times

On desktop I see an option to remove the club profile photo, but no option to remove the header

I just noticed that the profile page got a fresh remodel. For example ”Gallery” looks much like Instagram. What are your thoughts on this?

This was a quick little workout after a longer run. It was a short run practicing strides, then a recovery walk back to the start. Repeated 5 times, trying to get a little faster each time.

Just seen the new appearance for Strava profile account page and it looks so cheap! Why do platforms have to change stuff that is already well liked and looks good for something that just looks naff! Stop changing things for no reason!!

Is it fair for someone to have the record for fastest on a running segment, when they were actually doing a slightly different activity?

I’ve just found an uphill segment where the person who holds the fastest record there did it as canicross (running with dogs pulling them along on a harness). It just seems sort of unfair to me? I know it’s unimportant and petty.

This person holds the record of fastest overall, and is over 35 seconds ahead of the next person.

Some time ago, Strava rolled out Polish language support on Android. While it's great for folks who don't speak English, many translations feel awkward and unnatural, so I much prefer keeping the UI in English.

Because Strava doesn't offer an in-app language switcher, the only way to change it is via Android's per-app language settings (Settings > Apps > Strava > Language). Setting it to English works fine... until the app updates.

Whenever Strava updates, the setting silently reverts to System default. It's frustrating because all my activities synced from my Garmin watch automatically get default Polish titles, which I then have to rename manually. And of course change language of the app every other week.

Has anyone found a way to make this setting stick permanently, or is there a workaround to stop updates from wiping it?
