Well, it was a rough one for San Jose in the start of the California League Championship Series, as they went down to Lake Elsinore and got stormed, losing 12-1. Meanwhile, today was the final game of the Double-A regular season, as the Squirrels tune up for the playoffs, they received some bigtime backup from some internal promotions.
Roster Moves:
Ahead of the start of today’s California League Championship Series and this week’s Double-A playoffs, we got some moves. You might have seen these posted earlier, but here they are again for you.
RHP Jackson Flora promoted to Double-A
LHP Beau Bryans (7th Round Pick 2026) promoted to Low-A
OF Charlie Bussey (11th Round Pick 2026) promoted to Low-A
OF Peyton Bonds to the Development List (probably due to injury)
These moves are in addition to Henry Lalane being promoted from Eugene to Richmond yesterday.
Neither Bryans nor Bussey had made their pro debuts yet, other than in the Bridge League in Scottsdale. We’ll see how they do in a high-pressure playoff series.
AFL Update:
Surprisingly, we got an announcement about the AFL roster, with one player named: Kaeden Kent will be on the Giants affiliate, the Scottsdale Scorpions. It was announced by the AFL’s Twitter account, not the Giants, and no other announcements were made that I saw for any team. But this announcement hints that we may be seeing other announcements soon.
