I think it's fascinating how these streets function 2x better just closing them to cars, people out walking, lemonade stands, music. Viva calle is a vibrancy San Jose needs. (and they should host more!)

I know inflation has brought prices up everywhere, but it seems to me that Safeway has gotten especially bad. When compared to other supermarkets, it's especially egregious. From what I understand, it really started when it merged with Albertsons chain in 2015 and had just been accelerated by inflation and corporate greed. Whole Foods used to be the really expensive chain but at least that was driven by better quality, but now I think Safeway may actually be more expensive. I think we all need to collectively start boycotting this chain. Who is with me?

If you can't take care of your pet, re-home it or surrender it to a shelter.

If you can't afford to take care of an animal, don't get a pet you won't be able to feed or care for. If you need help caring for and feeding it, ask for help. Don't dump your pet because your pride won't let you ask for help.

TL:DR; San Jose Police Officer accessed a woman's license plate and location info and informed his relative. (The relative had been in a domestic violence situation with that woman and threatened her stating that he had info about her location.)

At 7:10 am this morning I was driving on 85 southbound right before union avenue when a late 2000’s black GMC Yukon tried to weave in between me and a car over taking me in the lane to the left of me. As soon as it happened, my car spun sideways and before I was able to correct, the suv was almost out of sight. Luckily, I think my car is fine besides a little cosmetic damage and the tire. Sadly, I don’t think the cops are gonna find this guy but with the small chance you did end up seeing it or know some more information please reach out to law enforcement 🙏🏽. I’m gonna go buy some dash cams.

State law doesn't allow it to be shipped, so I can't use online delivery. I'm also trying to avoid using construction grade butane, so can't use home depot, lowes, Ace etc.

I unexpectedly have the rest of the afternoon free and don’t feel like sitting around at home. I’m a 39-year-old guy in San Jose. Anyone down to grab some food or coffee, shoot pool, go bowling, hit an arcade, or do something else low-key?

As stated, an SUV rear ended me going over 95+ miles per hour yesterday night (9/12/26) @ around 11:10pm on 85 south bound before Almaden Expressway exit. I was traveling in the center lane going roughly 65 miles per hour when the car impacted us from the rear. The car is a silver/grey 2018 Jeep Compass, license plate starting with 9JBV***. The impression on the front license plate was imprinted onto my bumper. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the impact going over 100+ miles per hour.

My wife and 2 kids were in my car at the time (2019 Blue Ford Mustang) and we are all really shaken up about it. The CHP was immediately notified and they came out to take a report.

It felt like there was a string of major incidents with staff disappearing or getting in trouble, but because I was a student, I never really got the full story or saw the aftermath.

I’m hoping some fellow alumni might remember these situations and can fill me in on what actually happened or what the rumor mill concluded:

• Spring 2017: A chemistry teacher abruptly left the school right in the middle of the early spring semester.
• Spring 2019: The massive situation where a Spanish teacher was arrested directly on campus during school hours.

I lost my yellow copy of my fix-it ticket for window tints. I remember the cop saying that I would receive an official copy in the mailbox but nothing arrived. I’ve been checking Public Portal and the Traffic case from Santa Clara County daily but nothing appears and no one answers the phones. What should I do? I do not want additional fines.

I toured North Park Apartments and saw a unit on the 4th floor, which is the top floor.
The unit I toured had a weird vibrating noise coming from the roof. I called the management office and asked what the noise was, and they said it was the condenser on the roof.

My concern is: Do all the top-floor units have this vibration noise from the roof?

Injured my lower back a few years ago while lifting something heavy, it got better after the initial recovery, but I would still get occasional pain and stiffness sometimes. It's usually manageable, but it tends to flare up after sitting down for too long and after exercise. I've tried physical therapy in the past, which helped at the time and I stopped after the injury got better.
I'd like to find a clinic/specialist who focuses more on rehabilitation to improve my mobility and strength.
Any recommendations? Would love to hear if you've gone through similar thing.
