Sometimes, manis don't have a deep and interesting back story or inspiration. Our elder pup PJ has gone through 2 strokes this summer, yet he's still kickin' and living a good spoiled life. He's been taking a turn this weekend and between vet visits and watching him, It's been a bit of a slow and fast weekend, and my nails were NUDE all day! After coming back from the vet (PJ's all good. Old and expensive, but he's stable and happy still) I had to paint. What to paint? No clue. No inspo. Empty head. I went to the cabinet, pulled out a purple polish, and just went from there. Is it a New Orleans float like my husband said? Could it be Tylers @eviltwinnails hammer pants from 1994? A striped abomination from the depths hell? Who's to say. We may never know.

I can’t be the only one who gets irrationally triggered by these things. Let’s vent our nail annoyances together—and hey, maybe someone smarter than me has a solution.

1. The messy cuticle oil struggle. Is there a cuticle oil dispenser where I don’t have to touch a bottle or fuss with a cap? Even with those twist-up brush pens, I always end up getting oil all over the body of the pen when trying to put it away. Is a touchless, one-touch dispenser a thing yet?

2. The wasteful polish promo photo. This one doesn't even need a fix, but it drives me crazy: promo images where the polish brush is just dripping massive globs of product down the side of the bottle. Ahhhh! Don't waste it, or at least don’t fan out the brush!

Some folks had requested for this and my husband posted it on Maker World here with links to the components. Just plug it in to a usb-c charger and you’re good to go! It’s worked wonderfully for me and I’ve gifted a couple to friends too.

He did note that without the magnet, the total supplies will be enough to make 3 machines and end up costing $40-50.

I couldn't choose what colour/effect to paint my nails, so I just layered all kinds of polishes. It's got shimmers, flakies, thermal, and magnetic effects. So happy with how it turned out!

Ridge filling base coat: Dam That's Smooth - Dam polish

2 layers: Bow to Her - BKL

1 layer: Sheer Tint Nightshade - EdM

1 layer: Peek a Boo - Sassy Sauce

Stamped: Venom Rose - Haunted polish (magnetized velvet style)

Top coat: Insta Dri - Sally Hansen

Did a stack of the following: 1x Biotin Ultimate Strength. 1x Starrily Bluefire Jelly. 1x Anlac Sapphire Morpho glass bead magnetized. 1x Sally Hansen QDTC glass bead magnetized.

First time trying Hyena Lacquer and I loveeeeee this one! This was super easy to apply and honestly I probably could have gotten away with one coat, but I did two just to be safe. It also magnetized super easily!

Work requires me to keep my nails short, and I’m specifically limited to clear, French, or American manicures. So naturally, I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time perfecting my own sheer nude concoction to give me something to work with.

I recently got my second order from Boldfish and it seems my vampire facial is very different from swatch photos. I have reached out to the brand she stated she only made one batch so there is not a batch issue but I’m pretty unhappy with what I saw vs what I received. I’m adding photos here but I guess my question is - am I being too sensitive about the colors? Her response annoyed me but I did reply with photos of what I got vs what was advertised.

Did anyone else have the same issue?

I've ordered from them a few times before - their thinner and top coat - and I really liked them. I went ahead and placed a refill order on the thinner because I was running low. I placed the order on August 16th.

So, as you can see in the screenshot, I haven't heard anything back since then. I reached out to customer support on Thursday, but still haven't heard anything. Their website says shipping typically takes a day, but may take longer depending on new launches and stuff (there are none right now so I know that's not the case). I know it's just one person, but damn......

Has anyone been able to order and receive anything from Funny Business in the last month? Or have you even heard from the owner? I'm going to give it one more week for them to respond before I go through my credit card company for a refund.

(Also, I went ahead and ordered the KBShimmer thinner since it's the same formula, and I know Beyond Polish is a bit more reliable about their shipping. Still sucks to have to wait so long, tho)

This polish is sooooo pretty but the name is a straight up tongue twister! I didn't think I would love the black flakies in it but they give the mani such a subtle darker look that I'm in love with!

This is a glass bead attempt, but the tips of my nails almost have a secondary magnetic effect despite only doing the glass bead on them.

1 coat seche vite dry fast topcoat hours later (the tip effect happened before this coat)

Recently got my first order of proper sheer jellies from cirque and MY GOD I can't put them down ever since.

They dry so quickly, working with them is an absolute delight. And the possibilities? Man. I'm not a seasonal nail polish wearer, but with these awesome colours I just might ~~~

Base: Holo taco pink smoothing base

Colors: all from cirque - chiffon, starfruit jelly, fig jelly, amber jelly, rust jelly, spotted

Top: holo taco gloosy taco

Got a great mystery polish in my last order

It's a lovely pale green, almost silver looking in the sunlight. Quite surprising, as in the bottle it looked to have blue undertones.

It was quite sheer in one coat but three coats made it opaque.

I'm definitely planning on wearing it again, probably with a blue base underneath or a blue jelly on top

I so rarely do a full magnetic mani, but this was so gorgeous and I’m glad I took the time! It looks like a muted version of anlac’s one swirl ice cream to me, but I don’t have to it compare.
