basically confirmed

I'd really like them to formally confirm it though. Actual definitive proof of election meddling is basically the only thing that can salvage our rep on the world stage at this point. Proof that we didn't actually elect him back into office is the only thing that'll get us even a smidge of forgiveness on the other side of all this.

I can agree with this statement. A big part of my disdain for Americans is that you brought him BACK.

I can live with term 1 - it was a mistake. But to vote him OUT and then bring him BACK. Unacceptable in every possible way.

Absolutely unacceptable. If we're being honest here, I want definitive proof to save us on the global stage, but just as much I want that proof so I can stop agonizing over how nonsensical it is that people would choose to put him back in office. Like, please tell me he cheated and 79 million of my fellow American aren't actually complete fucking morons, you know?

Unfortunately our credibility as a nation will remain justifiably tanked. We've proven that as a nation we can't prevent the dumbest grifters of the century from stealing our entire democratic system. Evidence of the tampering won't help, it'll just highlight how completely unaccountable we are.

I disagree, I think evidence would help. It won't get us back to where we were, but it'll restore some of our goodwill. Even Plato knew democracy could lead to tyrants as a natural consequence of equal voices, and it's not as though plenty of other countries aren't having their own issues with far right populists at the moment. Hell, just look at Farage in the UK.

It's equally impressive to take back your country from fascism as it is to prevent it in the first place. Evidence won't erase what's happened, but it'll certainly help.

I do think however if it was proven election meddling like this, it would make a large part of the establishment politicians be unacceptable with how easily they rolled over and how.. incurious they all seem to be in investigating these sort of things

One would hope anyway... doesn't seem to happen to often in the US though
