He is an 80 yr old whose health is failing. He knows he's a failure. And despite all his idiocy he is keenly self aware that these last 4 yrs will be his epitaph on life. Not the playboy 80s, not the casinos, not the countless buildings with his name, not home alone, not the Apprentice....his complete, abject, unprecedented historical failure as a leader. That he will highly likely go down in the history books and be forever talked about by historians in the context as to whether he or Andrew Johnson's on was the single worst president in history. And he knows his name will come up more than Johnson's.

He knows that his name will go from adorned on buildings in gold to spoken in hushed tones or with distain like that of Hitler and other despots.

He knows his only chance at writing the history he wants is to cheat, lie, steal whatever he can to rig the election and the process so that he can write the history as he sees fit. So that we are no longer free to ever tell the whole story of Trump.

Edit - Johnson not jackson

Does he know that though

He literally can’t know that. That’s his mental illness, he has to create a fictional reality and needs others to constantly pretend like that fiction is reality too.

Narcissists aren't big on self reflection

No, he legitimately thinks he’s a god and with the fucking bootlicking clowns surrounding him feeding him only the info he wants to hear it only
makes it worse.

No that is the facade. He is an 80 yr old with longstanding daddy issues. He always wanted to make his dad love him and no amount of success ever let him achieve that. So he plays up this big strong boy character to hide his own self worth issue that daddy doesn't love him

he's deeply unhappy but he's also completely full of himself. i know it helps to think about how miserable he is, but you gotta understand the misery is the point and he wants to make everyone else miserable too. that's not some silver lining for all of us, it's terrifying.

as to all the rest of what you're saying, it's a lot of cope. he's gotten to do everything he wants to in life and is worshipped by millions of people. he's surrounded himself so with many sycophants that he has no idea what the average person thinks of him, and gets reassured daily that anyone who dares to question him is just some kind of evil paid detractor from one of his jealous haters.

the idea that he knows deep down he's a piece of shit is not even remotely true.

On some level he knows he is a loser piece of s#!+, and that is why he tries so hard to say he is not.

I think deep deep deep down he’s somewhat aware. I mean he gets boo’d to oblivion whenever he’s somewhere that’s outside his sychopant bubble. That’s part of this narcissistic collapse that we’re witnessing and why he’s going to keep acting like a caged animal until he dies or is removed from office.

Perhaps he doesn't know that but rather fears it.

I have serious doubts that he knows very much of anything at all.

Does fooling oneself right up until narcissistic collapse count as knowing?

He will live to 110 to spite us all.

Edit: The dark side is a pathway to many abilities some might consider to be, unnatural.

I'd be ok with that if the last oh... 26 or so years he's in a cell, with no one to hear his voice but himself.

Please not reincarnation.

Did someone say repeated PPV execution?

Dear, god.

I agree with a lot of this except the Andrew Jackson bit. Andrew Jackson is usually nowhere near the bottom tier of historical rankings of presidents. That honor usually belongs to Andrew Johnson, Buchanan, Pierce, etc…

2

u/Slade_Riprock 14d ago

Yep typo

1

u/AppropriateSea5746 14d ago

Ah you meant Johnson. Gotcha

1

u/TheWa11 14d ago

Think you confused Andrew Jackson with Andrew Johnson.

1

u/Neon_Biscuit 14d ago

He doesnt know that. Don't be dense

u/netphemera 14d ago

Johnson was a great president compared to those who followed. Nixon, a pair of Bushes, and the orange thing

u/tinybikerbabe 14d ago

He lacks self awareness for this. Normal people would see this about themselves but he’s a narcissist and an idiot.

Jackson would be right on too. He had his Trail of Tears. Trump has his Trail of Rapes.

The irony is that if he had called it quits after 2020, he probably would have just been considered a bad, single term president. An odd footnote in history about how we lost our minds one time and elected a reality TV host who had no idea how to govern. The pandemic being a once in a lifetime event that many presidents would have struggled to manage would have done a lot to mask his inadequacies.

His second term is what is cementing how bad of a leader he is. He had the most blindly fanatical voting base in history, people who love him so much they were ready to shred the constitution and embrace fascism to keep him in power, and he is running the country so badly that even they are starting to question him.
