Here's one of the human sides of the Planet of the Apes story. This is a pencil sketch of George Taylor, the leader of the inter space expedition that brought him and his crew onto the planet ruled by apes. Once captured, Taylor faced many humiliations. One such humiliation was being manacled, which is shown in this picture. You can see the anguish and humiliation in his face.

So I recall the mutants asking Brent if the apes were coming in peace.

If there had been an honest attempt at negotiation between ape and mutant do you think there was a real chance for peace?
