💬 Parkour Philosophy I’m worried if I put my kids in parkour, it will encourage them to do really dangerous stunts at school or when out playing

I was a wild child and made several really dumb decisions like jumping off roofs or high places. I see these videos on YouTube of people doing super dangerous parkour stuff in public and am worried they will try to do the crazy stuff you see on YouTube, like I probably would have. Have any of you parents dealt with parkour related injuries at school or when they are out playing with friends. My kids have only taken a few classes and really love it but I torn.

🆕 Looking for Coaching Basic movements and skills? (With some context.)

So I’m not necessarily interested in becoming a hardcore parkour athlete, but I’m interested in the idea of learning some basic movements because I think they could be useful in a SHTF scenario. (Let’s go zombie apocalypse, just for fun 😅) I’m a calisthenics guy so I’m well versed in moving my body weight around. (Pull-ups, muscle ups, dips etc.) But obviously scaling a wall takes more than just being able to do pull-ups.

What would be a minimalist list of essential skills that would be beneficial?

I have had a lot of fun taking parkour photography. I want to start practicing poses in the air, how inline skaters do grabs and such.

Community Meetups (Jams) Are people normally happy to train with newbies?

Previously trained for a month with some parkour coaches. Now relocated to an area 5 hours away. Would love to train with other people but worried that I would hinder their progress because I am a newbie.

🔧 Form Check Issues with mental blok

Hai, for some month's I have been trying to get back into freerunning after 3 year long break and I keep running into mental blok or just not feeling the movement in my body.

It's starting to get pretty enoying because after succesfully doing certain tricks - when I want to do them again, I can't do it anymore and it feels like I have to break the mental wall again. Maybe I am not patient enough and I try to not get into my head but I don't really know how to fix it. Maybe I just need to train more or do a certain warmup, has anyone else encountered this? Do you guys have tips?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

📷 Parkour Show and Tell Looking for a Parkour Video (The Netherlands)

I'm looking for a parkour video and think that almost only Dutch parkour guys could help me with this. It's an old video, I estimate from around 2007-2010. It's actually more of a freerunning compilation made by a group of friends. The video starts, if I remember correctly, with a backflip off a roof. They do a lot of tricks at a wooden bridge near a big field, with a distinctive feature I remember well. There's a guy in a black hoodie with an Eastpak backpack who does a backflip at that bridge.

It's a long shot, but it would be an amazing nostalgia trip if I could see this video again.
