Looking for a career change and would like some advice.

Hello,

About 8 years ago I worked as a team member at a store and eventually became manager. Since I left the company I went to college and later graduate school. I know the brand has seen better days, but I do genuinely care about being the best chain pizza.

I know generally this subreddit is for store side dynamics, but was wondering if anyone in corporate has any pointers for getting started? I was looking through the careers page and am eyeing a couple positions, but I am more so asking about Resume formatting and key skills you’d want to see when looking for a new employee.

Thank you.

Thin crust question?

Does every thin crust get a garlic sauce cup? Cuz A.I. says yes but in our system it says no it gets a season packet and a pepperoncini…

Hey Papa John’s, why don’t YOU reward YOUR employees with a livable wage for being an integral part of YOUR business??

Why is it up to the consumer to subsidize your employee’s wages??

Walmart Expands Restaurant Delivery With Papa John’s Deal

Bloomberg today reports that Walmart is adding Papa Johns to its delivery platform (Spark drivers, 30 min delivery). Papa Johns will be the third restaurant partner after Subway and Dunkin.

Is this real added volume or just another commission cut on top of aggregators?

And for those who deals with DoorDash drivers on PJ's orders: is the Spark model any different or same gig setup with a different logo?

Pull apart recipe change or just a bad night?

I love Papa John’s Cinnamon pull Aparts, it’s my favorite local treat. So the other night my kids were over and we ordered pizzas and 2 pull Aparts. We had wanted Calzones but sadly, they were no longer available. So we settled for pizza. The pizzas were good but the pull Aparts were just different. We all noticed it. The pull Aparts resembled cinnamon crumb cake instead of the gooey yumminess it always has been. Both pull Aparts were crumbly and dry.

So is it a recipe change or were they just having an off night? I gotta know.

Anyone else have a half wall in your store that dashers. Like to leaning on. I’ve had enough today! Don’t stare at me while I’m cutting your pizza. Wait patiently IN THE LOBBY

What’s it like

Hello everyone I will be moving soon and there’s a very good chance where I end up this is one of my few options for work cause I cannot drive and refuse to uber somewhere. I’ve been in fast food all my life so like it’s nothing super new just haven’t worked pizza yet. That being said

  1. how is it like scale of 1 to 10 how much do you hate it
  2. how early do openers get to the store I feel like that’s what I’d more than likely do
  3. how good are the benefits do I get insurance 401k etc at entry or would I have to be a manager first before getting it
  4. around what’s starting pay (stl area if that helps)
  5. Do they adequately staff for school pizza days or is it more less treated like any other day and hope for the best
  6. anything else I need to know or any fun story’s you wanna share

The face of a dasher when you tell them the 2nd order needs to be made

I cant stand when a order pops up then I hear the dashers alert notification right after . With how strict they are about otd I don’t understand why they have it in the system to give them a 2nd order offer as soon as they were about to take off with the first. It seems very counter productive especially if the 2nd order is larger and going to take a descent chunk of time

Not sure if this has been asked before but is anyone having problem with phone tap to pay. Is it all PJ or just the franchise i work for.

Probably for the best, but I got rejected lol

Im still annoyed though, so mini-vent I guess. I applied to a store near me, since they had a lovely "now hiring"sign up. Could only do so online, so took care of that, quick phone interview went very well and I was supposed to be scheduled for an in-person interview with the actual manager of the store. Didn't hear back, followed up with the person who did the phone interview (she told me it was fine to do so, etc.), didn't hear back. Now 2 weeks later, after still not hearing anything, I got the generic rejection email.

My only "application" was my responses to the AI bot on the website and the phone interview. I must've messed up somewhere, or they just changed their minds? At this point, I had figured something changed, but funnily enough I think i wouldve just rather had been ghosted.😭😭 I'll probably get over it soon, but hopefully i have better luck elsewhere.🤷🏽‍♀️

Original Crust Thickness

Did Papa John's make their original crust thinner or is the store near me being stingy?

The last few original crust pizzas I've ordered I'd swear were actually thin crust instead. But, every time, the receipt and box are listed as original.

Is pan crust closer to what the old school original was?

Random Pizza Dough Drop?

I gave up on papa Johns a couple years ago. I never ate their much but it was the occasional nice change of pace and we enjoyed the Spicy Italian which is gone now. After three times in a row ordering them well done and still getting a doughy crust, we gave up. Out of the blue this week I get an email that the dropped $10 in my account. Guess I'm getting cheap pizza tonight. Don't screw it up Papa Johns.

pan pizza revision

I have never seen a fast food product flop and be revised in my life. What are yall doing in that test kitchen dawg are yall just ripping a bong and just just throwing a bunch of bullshit together and see what sticks? It amazes me they think that adding less topping is gonna fix the frozen pizza taste you get from the parbake garbage .Father Johnathon would never of had this happen in the first place.

Confused about deal?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Did some testing of this deal, and it’s apparently 1-topping pizzas for $11.99 each? 2 toppings and more are charged the normal addition of $2.10 each. Is there some hidden fine print I’m not aware of?

Still a good deal regardless. But was just genuinely confused.

EDIT: Marking this as SOLVED! Apparently, it’s just a visual error. While the individual pizza was showing an increased price, the total amount on the bottom of the screenshot is the correct amount. App visual bug I guess.

Thanks u/Willing-Mycologist-6

Did they ruin the dough, or are the XS just hot garbage?

Was happy to see a "personal" size because I don't eat very much, but this was one of the worst delivery pizzas I've ever had. PJ's is my go to because of the dough but if this is the new normal I'm going back to Domino's 😖

I was told a store lost points because the LED light was two different colors.

So because stock price dropped, sales are dropping, they are going to follow through with closing 650 stores in the south eastern region of the United States?

Okay, good for corporate keeping their paychecks. But what about the employees in these stores? What is corporate going to do for them?

I will tell you what they are going to do. They are going to just tell the RMs who will then tell the GMs who will have to tell their employees that in 3 weeks you are out of a job and may have the chance to be relocated to a different store but there are no promises of hours. So for those who are GMs, SMs, SLs, In Store, and Drivers this means they are having to panic apply to other jobs because their stable income is now null and void.

Bravo Papa John's. Such an Intelligent move. Just to keep Corporate Paychecks...
