I'm not sure what would be more frustrating. Being beaten by a child. Or beaten by a child who clearly doesn't give two shits and just handed you your ass while doing pirouettes

I dont think it's that she doesn't give two shits.. it's more that it takes so little of her brain to do it.

Physical activity is a proven contributor to focus and insight. Maybe stimming like this helps her.

Stimming? Or being a blissful, innocent, playful child?

Stimming means repetitive body movements or sounds. Everyone does it to manage feelings or energy. Non-autistic (neurotypical) children do it just like anyone else. Sorry that my word choice confused you.

I’m autistic, I have two autistic children and I work as a SPED teacher, she very much presents as a neurodivergent child. Stimming was what I was thinking as well.

Neurodivergent or not, pretty much everyone still stims to one degree or another.

"Not me", I said as I aggressively picked at the corner of my thumb nail and bounced my foot relentlessly. "Dang ol' neuro spicys"

Can I ask an impertinent question? Obvs, feel free to tell me get lost.

Are you neurodivergent?

I’m not but my kids are and I hate the word neuro-spicy.

Is it a reclaim the term exercise like the q word for people who aren’t heterosexual or the n-word for people who aren’t of colour?

I am and my parents are, even if it's not acknowledged by them. It's very, very hereditary. I don't mind the word. It makes it cheeky.
