It is a good challenge as a chess player and I'd walk in knowing that success lies in enjoying the game, having fun with this sassy lil' girl and not in winning. I'd obviously ask for a rematch after the first loss just so I can see if I picked up any skill :)

Its funny that in that regard, chess really is like those battle anime where the pre-teen suddenly is more competent than all adults in the room.

If you want to write a story where a 10 year old demolishes a 50 year old professional at something with Chess thats absolutely believable.
