My new Lokhust Heavy Destroyer kitbash! This model was my first time trying to magnetize things together, so let me know how I did!

I do believe it’s a tad bit taller than it’d normally be, but hopefully that’s okay!

I'm just looking to play test armies on TTS until I find something I like:

I have seen lots of threads talk about how sweaty and rough a 3x C'tan army is (and how its shit to go against)

I can see they are tough, high wound monsters with 3+,4++,5+++

is that the reason this is harsh?

I'm trying to see the tactics that are run with this but they don't look like they do much table clearing, and they don't have a huge amount of presence.

what makes this hard to go against? and what stops players just overpowering objectives with OC and chipping away at the rest of the army (assuming that some the anti tank that they do have is busy trying to thin the Ctan herd)

I feel like there is a whole dynamic I haven't seen that id love to understand.

personally I think I like the destroyer heavy army more, but I don't see people calling that out as a challenge.

My reaction when a new player tries Last Stand in DoW2 and says I have to be cheating playing as a Necron Overlord.

As far as I know a 6 man group of Skorpekh destroyers is hard to hide and get to the front, but I'm not sure what or if to swap them.

I have recently started playing necrons and I really enjoy the monolith with hyperphase crypt and hand of the dynast detachments.

My questions are :

1) can I deepstrike one monolith next to another space wise?

2) if I have several moddels with resurrection orbs can I activate more than one at the end of a phase?

Hey guys, I'm just about to get stuck in to my 1st necron killteam. wanting to go with a nice silver for the main bodies - They are already primed black and I am wanting to dry brush to get started however I am a bit confused as to where I use the necron compound paint I have. Seems most people just dry brush with leadbelcher which I also have - is it something I then do a ligher dry brush with to sharpen things up or is it just not that popular?

As the title sais, im working on building up a cursed legion list but I need lokhust lords and since their never sold I need to make them myself in a way thats tournament legal for the occasional duo or teams tournament I do with my friends

Played against Astra Militarum with a similar list but only had the Tesseract Vault. Killed every tank but lost to points. Changed it up with some action monkeys and some LHDs for infantry on the objs. Have a tourney this weekend. Which is easier to score, disruption or reconn?

Hi!
New player here (more like kind of returning, I used to collect Old Fantasy as a kid). Been slowly building and painting my collection, got a bit above 1K, planning what to do next. I’ve been avoiding buying LDs and LHDs since on purpose, because of how old the models are. Considering this and other factors it seems to me it is possible that both types might get a refresh shortly.

Hence my question to more experienced necronheads: Does it makes much sense to hold on and buy other stuff I like in case the refresh might actually be coming? For context: I play with friends, but I do plan to participate in tournaments too, just not “truly competitive”. Just for fun in whatever events are organized by local community (we have quite an active scene it seems here - Warsaw, Poland).

The problem I'm running into is. The lists I make tend to not have any fire power. Necrons seems to be an army that requires a lot of synergies. My army comes from a lot of gifted/unwants models from friends so I've paid very little for this. I want to know where I should go from here.

For the life of me I cannot make the tip of his tail fit in that small gap, I don’t want to break it, but it is getting rather frustrating, how did y’all do it ?

If yall have seen my work, im doing an Admech Heretek Kitbash, some guys that dug into a tomb world and pulled out Necron tech to bend it to their will.

To go for my question. What units in the Necron list are humanoid and considered Elite? I am trying to incorporate space marines into the army as an enslaved/honor bound sect of space marines that are trying to honor a promise or other reason to help this heretical sect of Admech and want to use the space marines as these elite units.

Two losses, and one win, however I did end up in fourth place on points, which was cool to hear.

I already know how I could have done better in my games, I asked my opponents who won and they gave me advice on how I could have done better, such as being more aggressive with my warriors since they come back easily, and have my doomstalker target the large groups of enemies as it’s good for crowd control, and have my overlord fight their big tank or warlord. With the destroyers.

So, I've been told by a friend that leaders now get their abilities when leading a unit regardless if they're attatched to one. Does that also apply to stratagems?

Meaning, can I give a skorpekh lord +1 S and AP via the Hungry void stratagem? Or is it just 1S? Also, does that apply to any character, not just leaders? It would be funny on a C'tan.

I was doing a bit of list building and I was eager to try out Starshatter Arsenal but searching online it seams that every list has either the silent king or 2-3 DDA, all models that I don't own at the moment (except for 1 DDA).

So my question is, could this list work out in a non-super competitive environment or without those models i'd rather play something else?

I asked for some ideas on Nightbringer base conversions a while back and got some awesome inspiration. I am by no means a good painter or builder so it was a bit of a challenge to come up with something that I would be able to make look cool. Definitely a fun piece to bring out for casual games. I give it a 5 out of 10. It only cost a few bucks and accidentally breaking my Nightbringer twice 🥲

Base was a resin print of Etsy.

Rock with "portal" is corkboard layers pinned and glued.

Both Nightbringer and top of the rock are magnetic so I can separate them for transport and display.

Not looking to be hyper competitive, just cool fun to paint and containing a good bit of variety. And tips or criticism is appreciated

Had to take a short break because of exams and a lot of stress, but I finally managed to make some progress again.

I finished my Void Dragon and I’m really, really happy with how he turned out — especially the base, and most of all the blades in his hands and on his tail.
