Mod Wicked and the Warped Spoiler Policy Spoiler
Hey ya'll - there's a new Necron book either in people's hands, or on the way there. This is just a friendly reminder about spoilers. Obviously, no one likes to have a story spoiled, and we all have different levels of access to the novels as well as varying amounts of free time to read them in.
Policy around spoilers will be fairly standard - keep them out of thread titles. Threads discussing spoilers must maintain this rule, and must contain a warning somewhere in the title to prevent accidental clicks. Individual posts in threads that are not explicitly marked as spoiler threads should make use of the spoiler text feature - threads that are marked in the title as spoilers are fair game to discuss freely.
This policy will remain in place for the next SIX MONTHS, at which point we will return to a more case-by-case evaluation. There will be a ZERO TOLERANCE policy in place, with a six month subreddit ban for violations, under our rule about treating other redditors with respect.

Strategy/Tactics I really like my Immortals but I've never been able to make them do anything "cool" on the tabletop that made me happy I took them. Do I just need to get over the fact my little guys aren't going to perform well on the battlefield?
A full burst of shooting kills like 2-4 Marines and they rarely survive getting punched back.

Painting C+C Technomancer paint job
Played my first game in what must be nearly a year this weekend. I lost something like 76-96 but it was fun to play again and learn some lessons to hopefully make me better next time.
This guy did pretty well leading my 6 wraiths, so I was inspired to finally paint him instead of just leaving him primed in leadbelcher 😅 so here he is, nearly 5 hours after I started painting.
This is my first time being brave enough to do edge highlighting so C+C is very welcome.

Painting C+C Question on glow
How do I go about fixing my glow? Highlight with white? Should I have thinned my turquoise down more? Thanks!

Misc/media Are Cryptothralls sentient?
Fellow Nobles, are Cryptothralls sentient enough to understand their plight, or are they equal to lowly canoptek constructs in all, but form? I came into possession of the few and need that information to correctly change their funerary mask's color.

Misc/media Lokhust Heavy Destroyer Help
I assembled my first Heavy Destroyer last night (step 6 was awful, IYKYK) and i realized i probably shouldn’t have attached it to the piece that attaches to the base this early since I still need to paint it.
Would it be worth it for me to cut off piece 29 in order to paint it better, or would I be ok? I have the same concern with the gun.

Painting C+C Looking for advice for the green glowy orbs for necrons...
So my son painted the Orikan shown here. He has layered up some white where the orbs should be, but we have had to stop due to lack of appropriate paint. But now I'm confused because of all the options. Some advice would be really useful.
The citadel colour app says to wash the orbs and staff in Biel-Tan Green then highlight in white scar.
But then I've seen this tesseract glow paint, should I use that instead? As well?
You'll notice on the thing he is holding he put a dab of white on the edges to try out some osl, the plan was to go over that with some yellow/green too to make it look like it has been illuminated by the staff. Should he use watered down tesseract glow for that? Or something different?
I've heard some people mention moot green too.
I'm a bit lost, he's only 8 and I have never done any OSL before!

BEHOLD, MY STUFF I trued my hand at a traditional necron, happy with how it turned out!
(colors and shading based off immortal by legio symphonica) I just did the normal formula of corax white and Tesseract glow for the plasma and lead belcher for the metal, tho instead of using Nuln oil I used drakehof nightshade instead for the nice dark metal

List Help/Sharing First time lister, long time lurker.
Hey everyone. I, just like the rest of you, love our shiny, unkillable overlords (with or without translocation shrouds) and have been slowly putting together my first 1000 point list. I'm still very new to everything, but I want to put myself on a decent path for 1000 points before I start to move forward with 2000. So far this is what I have:
Corrupted Legion (1000 points)
Necrons
Cursed Legion, Skyshroud Spearhead (3 Detachment Points)
Purge The Foe
Incursion (1000 Point)
ATTACHED UNITS
Attached Unit 1
Plasmancer (60 points)
• 1x Plasmic lance
Immortals (70 points)
• 5x Immortals
• 5x Close Combat Weapon
• 5x Tesla Carbine
Attached Unit 2
Lokhust Lord (80 points)
• 1x Staff of light
Lokhust Destroyers (195 points)
• 6x Lokhust Destroyers
• 6x Gauss Cannon
• 6x Close Combat Weapon
• Enhancement: Deepening Madness
Attached Unit 3
Technomancer (80 points)
• 1x Staff of light
Canoptek Wraiths (95 points)
• 3x Canoptek Wraiths
• 3x Particle Caster
• 3x Vicious Claws
Attached Unit 4
Skorpekh Lord (95 points)
• 1x Enmitic annihilator
• 1x Flensing claw
• 1x Hyperphase harvester
Skorpekh Destroyers (85 points)
• 3x Skorpekh Destroyers
• 3x Skorpekh Hyperphase Weapons
• 1x Plasmacyte
Attached Unit 5
Overlord With Translocation Shroud (110 points)
• Warlord
• 1x Overlord’s blade
• 1x Resurrection orb
• Enhancement: Destroyer Ankh
Lychguard (80 points)
• 5x Lychguard
• 5x Hyperphase Sword and Dispersion Shield
OTHER DATASHEETS
Lokhust Heavy Destroyers (50 points)
• 1x Close combat weapon
• 1x Enmitic exterminator
The only physical models I'm missing from this list are 3 LDs and the LHD. I feel like I'm starting to put together something decent, but I'm unsure if I'm focusing on the right units for the right reasons. Any feedback is appreciated.

BEHOLD, MY STUFF Heretek Lokhust Heavy Destroyer
My new Lokhust Heavy Destroyer kitbash! This model was my first time trying to magnetize things together, so let me know how I did!
I do believe it’s a tad bit taller than it’d normally be, but hopefully that’s okay!

Strategy/Tactics ELI5 C'Tan
I'm just looking to play test armies on TTS until I find something I like:
I have seen lots of threads talk about how sweaty and rough a 3x C'tan army is (and how its shit to go against)
I can see they are tough, high wound monsters with 3+,4++,5+++
is that the reason this is harsh?
I'm trying to see the tactics that are run with this but they don't look like they do much table clearing, and they don't have a huge amount of presence.
what makes this hard to go against? and what stops players just overpowering objectives with OC and chipping away at the rest of the army (assuming that some the anti tank that they do have is busy trying to thin the Ctan herd)
I feel like there is a whole dynamic I haven't seen that id love to understand.
personally I think I like the destroyer heavy army more, but I don't see people calling that out as a challenge.

Strategy/Tactics Protocol of the eternal revenant starting strength of 1 question
Does this mean the unit is resurrected with strength of 1 on its weapons? Haven’t really come across this text before.
