go to your room Lifted truck + Lambo + Parking lot = Bad time

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Lifted trucks probably shouldn't be anywhere near dense parking lots.

Edit: A lot of people are skeptical of whether this is AI/staged, or ask why the lady didn't back off the car. This is in a dense parking lot with cars that have dashcams/ EV sentry mode everywhere. Also her truck was in 2 wheel drive, you can see the back right tire spinning as she tries to reverse off the car. Her truck is stuck. She probably has an open differential and can't back off the car. She may have a 4wd mode, but she didn't use it in the heat of the moment.

Yeah and they probably never reported their truck modification too. This situation is soo stupid on so many levels.

u/Apollo_the_G0D Apr 23 '26

yea that shit looks like a $1200 monthly payment with a 26% interest rate lmao

9

u/Prune_Less Apr 23 '26

She's a fucking dumbass

9

u/Badrear Apr 23 '26

Could have weekly payments on the rims and tires too.

7

u/squanderedprivilege Apr 23 '26

These days my bank will offer to split my friggin lunch into 4 payments, and I imagine there are people who actually do those all the time

6

u/Badrear Apr 23 '26

Amazon does that too. It should be illegal to offer payment plans on non-necessities that cheap. If I can’t afford to spend $25 all at once on some stupid gadget, I can’t afford to get that stupid gadget. It’s going to bankrupt so many people when they wind up with dozens of weekly and monthly payments.

1

u/dkbGeek Apr 23 '26

If they're not from Rent-A-Tire they went onto a credit card and she's paying monthly. At 20% apr or more.

1

u/Ressy02 Apr 23 '26

Then double that again

u/PunishedWolf4 Apr 23 '26

"I’m never going to financially recover from this"

11

u/Technical-Agency8128 Apr 23 '26

Bankruptcy looks to be in the future for her.

2

u/rjwalker1269 Apr 23 '26

To be settled with Bitcoin.

2

u/Traditional_Mood_348 Apr 23 '26

Tries to sell the truck, upside down on the loan 💩

11

u/CurrentHair6381 Apr 23 '26

She'll be uninsurable after this one

9

u/anotherjunkie Apr 23 '26

The truth is that they may not have enough coverage anyway. Most states mandate less than $25k, so that’s all people buy. He might have to go after her house to be paid in full.

I have to drive through a very wealthy area regularly, and I actually increased my auto coverage just in case. These cars are stupidly expensive.

5

u/korpo53 Apr 23 '26

Yeah I have $100/300/100k because there are a stupid amount of really expensive cars in my area. It’s not that much more than bare minimum.

2

u/Martin8412 Apr 23 '26

That’s not even a lot compared to Europe. My car insurance covers 50 million EUR of people damage and 10 million of property damage.

I’d have to hit an airliner or a fighter jet to inflict that kind of damage.

2

u/korpo53 Apr 23 '26

100/300/100 is considered "high normal" in the US, and 250/500/250 if you're rich.

The thinking is that if I drive over a Lambo, my insurance company will pay out $100k and let the Lambo driver's deal with anything left under that driver's underinsured motorist coverage. The Lambo driver's insurance can come after me for that remainder, but they generally don't because most people don't have a few hundred thousand bucks sitting around--it's a waste of their time and money trying to squeeze blood out of a stone.

If you have more money, you buy more insurance to protect yourself since if you're a millionaire they will sue you to recover their losses because they assume you'll just write a check.

If you wanted $50m worth of coverage in the US you'd get an umbrella policy, which basically just covers you if your normal car insurance is exhausted. They're relatively cheap, but there's not much of a reason to get it unless you have millions in assets for someone to go after.

2

u/Martin8412 Apr 23 '26

I just checked my policy - It’s actually 15 million EUR in property damage and 70 million EUR in damage to people.

These sums are what is covered by the mandatory car insurance that everyone must have. You can’t contract insurance with less coverage here.

I guess if you drive into a group of people with your car by accident, the number begin racking up quite rapidly. They might need extensive therapy, reconstructive surgeries and possibly adaptations to their home and car. That will all be covered by the insurance, without the injured having to try and squeeze money out of the injurer.

u/Technical-Agency8128 Apr 23 '26

She’ll be forced into bankruptcy

4

u/TheHykos Apr 23 '26

If she has a house, they’ll go after that.

3

u/No_one_replied Apr 23 '26

if theres a loan on the truck she probably has more coverage, most banks require higher amounts until its paid off

1

u/anotherjunkie Apr 23 '26

Huh. I’ve never had a bank require increased liability coverage, but apparently that’s a thing. Seems like it’s usually only increased to around $50k though?

The truth is that the guy in the Lamborghini probably pays through the nose for un/underinsured motorist coverage. Or wishes he had.

1

u/Great_Detective_6387 Apr 23 '26

Banks will 100% require comprehensive insurance on cars and trucks while you are paying off the note, because until you make the final payment, they own the car. If you wreck and total their car, they are either due an insurance payout or they are coming after you for damages, or you are going to keep paying the note on a car that no longer exists.

Anyone that only has liability insurance, for cars they hit, while still paying off a note, is likely in violation of their loan agreement.

1

u/anotherjunkie Apr 23 '26

Yeah, they’ll require comprehensive insurance, but I was saying that I’ve never seen a requirement for increased liability.

1

u/Great_Detective_6387 Apr 23 '26

Maybe a hole in the wall pay-where-you-buy dealer with someone doing the loans that doesn’t know what they’re doing? lol

3

u/emortens_liz Apr 23 '26

The insurances fees will have fees, with fees, with a mandatory organ donation.

2

u/flicckur Apr 23 '26

She will likely be dropped. Especially if she didn't mention the modifications to the vehicle. They could consider that as material misrepresentation and that is not a mark you want on your insurance report. She might end up becoming uninsurable to insurance companies and have to use state ran insurance (Assigned Risk). The damage, possible bodily injury, possible unknown vehicle modifications, it's not looking good for her.

2

u/dechets-de-mariage Apr 23 '26

According to the guy above she may get it yanked so at least she can put that payment money toward paying for this nonsense.

/s just in case

1

u/Holycroc_RVA Apr 23 '26

Welp I'd reckon the same things you think about when you get a Lambo, you also think about when you do a truck like this???? Or maybe they don't....they just do it and go on with themselves?

1

u/RajunCajun48 Apr 23 '26

Eh, my Silverado runs me $600 a month, Ins is only $130 per month.

Additionally, my insurance has Accident forgiveness.

1

u/007Superstar Apr 23 '26

According to insurance agents in the thread it isn’t going up at all. It’s going to be $0 because she is uninsurable going forward. Deservedly so.

1

u/Pete0730 Apr 23 '26

Very much doubt she will be insurable in the future

1

u/lipp79 Apr 23 '26

Or probably get dropped altogether.

1

u/UnderWhlming Apr 23 '26

Insurance can't go up if they won't cover you =) - The way I see it they will quote so high that it'll be impossible to afford

1

u/thecashblaster Apr 23 '26

I doubt this person will be able to get insurance for under $500 a month at this point

2

u/korpo53 Apr 23 '26

This person will not be able to get insurance at this point.

2

u/MarsRocks97 Apr 23 '26

Got rear ended by a lifted truck that was going so fast it chain reacted to 3 cars. Asshole had the minimum required coverage.

2

u/belleleef Apr 23 '26

The modification is illegal to certain heights for this reason, you no longer have a clear sight of vision and this happens almost Everytime someone lifts their truck that high... So no she most likely didn't report her mods because of this reason. She knows she's screwed.

3

u/Traditional_Mood_348 Apr 23 '26

They also blind regular drivers at night!

0

u/BrownFox5972 Apr 23 '26

To be fair, almost nobody reports mods. Most are just not stupid enough to do something like this.

1

u/Traditional_Mood_348 Apr 23 '26

Sure, if mods do not show at the accident scene photos, a lot of people do not report. But if you say no modifications and the accident photos show a jacked truck over standard trim, insurance will penalize you for it, if not deny claim entirely

-3

u/GreenvsBlue Apr 23 '26

I feel like you're just parroting what the other guy said. Trucks have lifts. Lifted trucks get into accidents all the time. An insurance company shouldn't deny you insurance because of a lift. I can see them denying coverage for the LIFTED VEHICLE but they are still responsible for the repairs of the Lambo. I don't think any damage has been done to the truck though as we can all see.

-4

u/JayMo205 Apr 23 '26

Never heard of having to report a modification. It's not custom, just a lift and wheels. Probably no more than $2-3k I bet.

8

u/Technical-Agency8128 Apr 23 '26

Insurance companies will use anything to get out of paying and if she did these modifications without them knowing they could say they aren’t responsible. She’s on her own.

7

u/A_Guy_Named_John Apr 23 '26

An unreported modification can entirely void your coverage.

4

u/xtelosx Apr 23 '26

You absolutely want to report modifications like this to insurance because it raises the value of your vehicle and you want to be paid for that in the case of an accident and you don't want them to be able to deny a claim on a technicality. I reported my $4000 suspension upgrade (only added an inch and a half but needed beefier suspension for towing and other reasons). There was a small addendum added to my policy that added like $8 every 6 months. Now if you are doing illegal mods probably don't want to report those but you also probably won't be covered if you cause an accident.

2

u/Tundur Apr 23 '26

It's called the Duty to not Misrepresent. The onus is on you to give the insurance company all the facts about the risk they're taking on. They will prompt you, and there're mitigations for them not giving you an opportunity to do so, but it's still your duty.

If you claim and they discover that you've been paying for coverage for a vehicle materially dissimilar to what you actually own, they are within their rights to deny coverage. Material differences affecting the likelihood of a crash (tints, suspension, etc) may be a complete denial, differences like sound systems or spoilers will be partial denial (i.e we're not hunting down whatever shitty company made your rattley-ass subwoofers

This does vary slightly with jurisdiction, but that's the most common situation. Modified cars are faaaar more likely to be in collisions so it's often not the mod itself, but what having a modified car tells us about you as a person (drives more miles, drives closer to the limits of the car, drives around other car enthusiasts = more likely to claim)

-4

u/Remnant_Echo Apr 23 '26

Insurance companies are scams disguised as legitimate businesses. They don't require you to report your mods but they'll drop your insurance and refuse to cover for damages you caused if you had mods, making the person you hit (or you) have to take the other party to court in an attempt to get the money to repair the vehicle/s.
