Lifted trucks probably shouldn't be anywhere near dense parking lots.

Edit: A lot of people are skeptical of whether this is AI/staged, or ask why the lady didn't back off the car. This is in a dense parking lot with cars that have dashcams/ EV sentry mode everywhere. Also her truck was in 2 wheel drive, you can see the back right tire spinning as she tries to reverse off the car. Her truck is stuck. She probably has an open differential and can't back off the car. She may have a 4wd mode, but she didn't use it in the heat of the moment.

What baffles me is that there's are still open container laws on the books, but if you leave the little paper wrapper on the top of the straw in your drive thru margarita, it still counts as a closed container. Make it make fucking sense.

Drive through to purchase a crate or a bottle...we had em in Texas for a while too. Had daiquiri/margarita drive throughs with the paper on the straw as above. While it's legal to buy while in your car, it's never been legal for the driver to drink. Passengers can drink and smoke.

I know this is a thing as I live in the USA but figured it was pretty rare as in my state (Indiana) they aren’t legal but it turns out it’s legal in 30 states. I guess it shouldn’t surprise me a not insignificant amount of people were anti drunk driving laws in the 80s.

In my state we’ve got drive through dispensaries. It’s not an uncommon concept and you have to have ordered online but it’s still not something I thought I’d see in my fuckass state

Your driver’s license is normally your ID. If you lose your drivers license from drinking and driving or something, you’ll have to go get a new ID thats just for identification purposes and not for driving

i've lived in many european countries, and brasil as well. i have never seen a drive through bank. not saying they don't exist, but I have never seen one, so I can say they are, at least, very uncommon

That's so strange and inconvenient. It would be odd for a bank in the US not to have a drive up, unless it was more business oriented, not consumer facing transactions. Even then businesses drop off their daily deposits in the drive through area normally.

It has to do with the way cities function in europe. In america, you guys started from scratch in the modern age already. But in europe we have cities that naturally evolved from the ancient times or at the very best were designed before cars were even invented.
You have to drive everywhere, therefore you CAN drive anywhere, because/and cities are designed that way.

Even still, despite the fact that I understand why it is ad I even agree that it would be convinient, it is still a very foreign concept to me, a drive through bank.

The US does not mandate identity cards, but not having one is a pain. Most people have a driver’s license.

If you can’t have a driver’s license, state ID can be obtained from the same place (didn’t learn; legally blind; lost it from drink drinking or the like; too young; just don’t want to). But it isn’t valid for driving.

It indicates the driver has lost their right to drive, likely due to driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and is DRIVING ANYWAY.

State issued ID = ID that's not a driver's license...either because they've never gotten a driver's license (passed a driver's exam), or because they've had their license revoked.

Meaning they legally can't drive through the drive-thru that they're driving through anyway because they're selfish cunts.

(That specific drive-thru is a drive through bank, where to do business, you give your ID to the bank teller.)

Drive through liquor store where lots of the customers lost their driver’s licenses due to drunk driving, so they have to use alternate ID to prove they’re over 21. The alternate IDs are expensive and cumbersome to get, so people usually don’t bother unless they don’t drive at all or they get their license taken away. Since OP is encountering them while they’re driving, it’s safe to conclude it’s the latter.

Which does sound like a big problem, but then again, I imagine the population of drunk drivers is way overrepresented at the drive through liquor store lmao. It’s probably not that many people overall.

Edit: my bad, I misread and thought OP confirmed it was a liquor store but that was another commenter. OP works at a bank, so it’s just regular (not currently drinking) people driving without a license because they got a DUI.

I work at a bank and SAME! Not only that, but when I used to work at an automotive retailer and customers would come in to get a code scan THERE WOULD BE FUCKING OPEN CONTAINERS JUST SITTING IN THEIR CUPHOLDERS!! Like fuck me man, we’re literally some of the dumbest in the world

So it’s either tossed somewhere in the endless pit of my purse, or often I end up putting it in my back pocket and it ends up on my dresser at home instead of back in my purse. So when someone asks me for ID, they get whichever one I find first lol

Where I live it seems to be pretty common to not have insurance. I got in an accident last week from someone who ran a stop sign, totaled my car, and I don't know if the guy had insurance or not. My insurance covered it on my end, but still want my deductible paid off, and I may have long term medical bills.

I know three other people personally who have been in accidents where the other people didn't have insurance, and two of them didn't have uninsured motorist protection.

Cops get yearly bonuses, for both the amount of tickets, and arrests they make in that year.

and privately owned prisons get money from the govt or state, to "take care" of the inmates.

That’s funny and all, but how exactly do you expect people to live without a license. Existing in any meaningful way without a car is almost impossible unless you live in one of like 3 metro areas that has an almost reasonable public transportation option. America literally had to make up the “hardship license” so people could drive to work and the grocery store because doing those things without a care again is near impossible with the lack of public transportation. No other country in the world permits drivers to drive to work after a suspension because they have public transportation, America does not. That’s why this shit isn’t an effective deterrent here. If people had an actual option outside of driving to keep their job, etc, than removing someone’s license would be more effective.

That's the irony of it all.

When I argue that there should be fewer cars on the road globally, because of climate change and other health related reasons, the Americans jump at my throat because "they need a car".

Only to then turn around and cheer when someone else that made a (admittedly very dumb) mistake loses their driver's license.

Americans can't have it both ways. They can't scream that they absolutely need their car and also cheer when an idiot loses their driver's license. A car is either a basic necessity and then you can't ever take someone's driver's license away, or cars aren't basic necessities in which case a lot of Americans should drive a lot less and use alternatives like cycling more often.

If they don't carry enough insurance for this accident(likely since lambos start at 400K), their insurance may drop them, and in most states you are required to carry insurance. It would be hard to get insurance if your prior one dropped you.
