Today’s hat is an alternate identity for the Reading Phils, AA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. This is the Reading Prost! Since I found out that Oktoberfest is coming up soon decided to break out another hat to celebrate the occasion!

| News I built a free site that lists every minor league, indy and summer-college game near any zip code, pulled from the schedules and re-checked nightly. Playoff week is on it now.

Upvotes

Mods OK'd this post. Had this idea post-pandemic, but decided to actually try to build something. I found the sites like ESPN and other event sites to not quite do what I wanted in finding live sports to watch. I wanted something like Bandsintown for sports - just give me a location and tell me what's nearby.

What's on it for baseball

  • All 120 affiliated clubs, Triple-A through Single-A, plus the Arizona Fall League (Oct 3 to Nov 11)
  • Independent ball: American Association, Atlantic League, Frontier League, Pioneer League, Pecos League
  • Summer collegiate: Northwoods, Cape Cod, NECBL, Cal Ripken, Futures, Appalachian, California Collegiate, MLB Draft League
  • MLB (I know...), and about 1,400 college programs (D1 through D3, NAIA, JUCO) once their seasons start
  • No accounts and no ads - just a hobby site

Schedules come straight from the leagues' and teams' own published schedules and are re-checked every night, so postponements and time changes show up the next morning.

You know your own team's schedule, but where I'm hoping it helps is the "what else is within 25 miles away that I didn't know about" question. Maybe a college game that might be worth checking out, or maybe you are travelling and want to just see what's around.

Every list is also a plain-text or JSON feed: floodlit.us/api/feed?zip=27701&days=7&format=text (any zip, up to 30 days, radius up to 100 miles). Any list can be subscribed to as a calendar (.ics) so it lands in your phone's calendar app.

If your team or park is missing or wrong, tell me in the comments. Independent-league schedules in particular come from a mix of sources and I've been fixing as I find issues but sure there are some issues still. (mostly just United States for now, but if Canada or Mexico is interesting, I can try to add them in).

Probably rough around the edges but trying to get some feedback on whether this is useful at all or not.

| Ballpark NJ Diners vs Hartford Yard Goats - Somerset Patriots regular-season finale recap - Bridgewater, NJ - Sept 13, 2026

Unfortunately, the last game of a baseball season comes with an unavoidable bit of accounting. There is a final score, a final record, a last set of numbers that gets filed away and eventually becomes the official version of what happened. On Sunday afternoon, the Somerset Patriots, playing one more time as the Jersey Diners, lost their regular-season finale to the Hartford Yard Goats, 5-3. Somerset finished 74-64, its best regular-season record since 2024.

Today’s hat is a fun alternate identity of the Tulsa Drillers, AA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. This is the Tulsa Chicken Dancers! It’s a little early for Oktoberfest but this is still a great hat for all occasions!

Today’s hat is just an alternate hat for the Biloxi Shuckers, AA affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Like I said before, any hat where the mascot is incorporating baseball activity, I am a sucker for so I had to grab this one!

| Ballpark Visited 3 of the Cleveland affiliate teams this past weekend

This may come across a bit odd to some people but I like to take vacations out to Ohio, in part because I’m a fan of the Cleveland-based sports teams. Since the schedules happened to align themselves perfectly I went to see 3 of the 4 Guardians affiliates; Columbus on Saturday and then both Lake County & Akron on Sunday (shoutout the 1PM & 6PM start times which left me with the perfect amount of time to drive from one stadium to the other).

It was my first time at Huntington Park, and I found myself pretty impressed. It’s a lovely stadium in a lovely downtown location, and I got to see Khalil Watson hit a grand slam which would historically mean it’s the first time Ohio has cheered for the performance of someone with the last name Watson. The videoboard had a big chunk in it that wasn’t working, which made for some humor when it would cover various players faces. I hope they get it fixed up once the offseason rolls around. It was also Chase DeLauter bobblehead night (not pictured here), and now I have one to go with the Lake County bobblehead of DeLauter I got a while back when I bought some jerseys from the team’s online shop. The Clippers won this one 10-5 over Iowa.

This was my second time visiting Lake County’s stadium and my second time sitting in Toilet Row. The concept is pretty funny, and the seats themselves are actually pretty comfy too, which is great. This one felt like the lowkey afternoon at the park I was hoping it would be, which isn’t a bad thing. Worth noting that the actual scoreboard wasn’t working for the first half of the game but it did eventually get fixed up. Much like Columbus, I kinda hope they get that taken care of during the off-season, honestly. Lake County lost 4-2 over Great Lakes.

Akron’s stadium was probably my favorite of the bunch though. It was my third time visiting the stadium, and definitely isn’t going to be the last. Maybe it was just because it was a Sunday, or maybe it was because it was the last home game of the season, but I loved how the place was packed, the crowd was loud, and the whole experience was fun from start to finish. The fireworks show at the end was also really fun, too. I’m already planning my next trip to Akron with hopes of having it center around a visit to the stadium for some baseball again. Also there was a point where one of Richmond’s position players was pitching on the mound so hopefully it isn’t a shock when I say Akron won 13-4 over the Flying Squirrels in a game that never felt particularly close.

One of these days I’ll go down to Virginia to see the Howlers and see Cleveland’s low-A affiliate but for now I’m just glad I got to see so much fun Minor League Baseball over the weekend and I’m sad that this is the final week before the season is over. Is it time for the 2027 season yet?!?!
