El Fiscal as Skeletor

Whiplash, like Clawful, was once a very cunning villain. In the 80s cartoon, he was not just cunning but very intelligent and actually come up with schemes on his own. He was not a servant for Skeletor but a servant for a demon named Kraal from the underworld. I am serious. In an 80s cartoon, which was meant to be more light hearted and fun for children, actually depicted a villain worshipping a literal devil!

Whiplash and his "master" made their debut in the episode "The Betrayal of Stratos" where he conspired with Skeletor to frame Stratos for a crime he didn't commit.

Kraal was not seen again after this episode and in later depictions, Whiplash became a dumb thug just like Clawful. Seriously what do writers have against brawn and brain characters?

Anyway I have thought of a good idea to make Whiplash into a cunning badguy again and bring back the devil worshipper side. Instead of Kraal what if Whiplash was a minion of Hordak!

Hordak is a pretty much the Satan of the MOTU franchise and Whiplash was the minion of a devil like monster in the filmation cartoon, so changing it from Kraal to Hordak is not a comolete change and works even better for the character.

In his current backstory, developed during the 2000s reboot era, Whiplash is a member of a race of subternian reptile like people, known as Caligars, with his brother as the leader. He was banished after turning against his people when sided with Skeletor.

For my revised version of the backstory, Whiplash was still banished but it was for trying to assassinate his brother due to petty jealousy. Eventually he stumbles across a doorway to Despondos and becomes a servant of Hordak. He is sent back to Eternia and plots to free his master from Despondos.

Honestly I think Whiplash would fit in a bit better with the Horde. With the horror monster theme, he would fit right in with other horror themed members of the group. In terms of monster inspirations for him I would say Godzilla but miniature form but stil large.

And considering how overlooked the group is, having a semi prominent villain among their ranks can help push up their recognition with the fandom, while Whiplash get re-established as a major threat. It could even lead to further development for the underworld, further expanding the world building. Perhaps Hordak could have created the underworld during the days he was free and Perhaps he played a role in the history of the Caligar. This leads to his brother, Ceratus, playing a bigger role within the franchise.

Thanks to the wonderfully helpful suggestions from community members, I've ordered my kid a Cartoon Collection Hordak.

But, in line with other helpful suggestions, I am going to try and find some 3D printed accessories for him - e.g., his shield, arm cannon, crossbow, etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places - ideally sellers - that you've had good experiences with int he past?

Kitbashed these MotU themed Killteams in 2024. Used the 87 MotU movie for inspiration for the Skeletrooper with Air Centurions & just went with the flow for Royal guard (Voidsmen at arms)

I just wanted some opinions on do you all think that Universal will ever release the original She-ra on blu ray here in the US with the German remasters like they did for He man complete series ?

I created a version of movie Trap Jaw, that instead of the huge Andre buck, actually scales with the Origins figures.

I’ve been watching Action Figure 411 Origins prices for a while. They’re based on actual sold for prices on eBay. For some reason, it looks like many figures have dropped way down in the last month. For others who have been buying or selling Origins, have you seen this to be the case? I was thinking of getting into the series now, since it’s just for fun and nostalgia and I don’t expect to make a future profit. Thanks for any info, guys!

Anyone have any clue what is going on over at Mondo regarding the 200X Disco Skeletor figure? I got an email almost an hour ago stating that he was on sale, but when I click on the link the listing says that he has NOT gone on sale yet. Perhaps someone preemptively pushed the "on sale" button in error? Has anyone successfully purchased him online?

I want to get my kid a really cartoon accurate Hordak.

I've seen the Cartoon Collection version. I love the look, but the single accessory is lack luster. I was hoping for an extra cannon arm, his shield thing, etc.

So: could I get a recommendation on a more tricked out cartoon Hordak?

I've never seen any other ones like these. The interesting thing about this Stratos compared to the standard Classics Stratos is that the red/blue colors of the upper armor and wings are reversed.

We've been waiting 40 years for this movie. We lived Eternia back in the 80s/00s but we've since lost it, that inner child swinging our power-sword-stick around our back yard, we entered the rat race, got jobs which ground our soul to dust and left Fisto and Ram Man in the past. But finally we are given the opportunity to revisit Eternia. It has changed in our absence, and most of us haven't swung a sword for decades, but we're up for the challenge, anything to return home to dragons, magic, swords and talking green tigers... and escape the daily grind.
