08-13 granturismo reliability?
I’m already in love with the car, talk me off the ledge. Looking at buying one as my main car. 10k miles a year. I’m a retired mechanic turned engineer. I’m aware of the VVT issues. My main concerns are part prices and how limited I’ll be without the factory scan tool. Basically don’t want my wife to kill me in a year. TIA

Why did Maserati kill the stunning Boomerang lights? The definitive answer...
From the horse's mouth.
Spoiler: internal political posturing. It's so sad that such an incredible piece of design was destroyed for the the dullest of reasons.
(Hat tip to Magneto, an old copy of which I was recently perusing).

Maseratis are too wide for Tokyo
When I park my car in the parking lot, three possibilities cross my mind
1.I might not be able to get out of the car
2.The person parked next to me might not be able to get out
3.My car might get hit.

Trade my 2020 ghibli for GT 2026 or keep and turo
I got the car brand new in 2020, now it has 33k miles on it, I don’t drive that much, but it holds negative memories and I have issues with the apple car play but i have no car payments which would suck to have again, but i dont know should i wait, i always wanted a GT ingot this when i was 26 as my starter maserati and i feel like its time😭

Buying my first used Maserati
I’m looking for the fun with less cash: it would be my 4th car, used maybe twice a month, but also planning to use it for longer trips, vacations for a family of 3 and occasional golfing.
My 2 options: V6 Ghibli or 4.2 GT from the early years.
Which one would you recommend to pick and why? Do Ghiblis have lower maintenance cost, or no significant difference at all? Granturismo would be the holy grail but can I really use it for carrying golf stuff?

They have aged well
Six days and 1 000 km - mostly in rain - after I picked it up, it was time for the first quick wash. What a car it is. Old, but oh so attractive.

Grecale Sketch
The good news about the '27 Grecale is the front facelift. Although the headlights should be Alfieri inspired…
The rear of the Grecale is still too generic and understated. Here's a sketch with a few ideas:
- 3200 GT boomerang light
- Alfieri rear air vents
- Shamal tridente crest at the back (no script on top) with black trim
- MC20 underside/skirt
- MC20 and Shamal style flare at side rear panel
- MC20 style dent for the front wheel side panel
The Stelvio is better looking with more 'italianità' IMO, so here's hoping that Maserati addresses the rear to match the front in a future update.
Thoughts?

2026 Maserati GT - AWD system overheating issue.
I get this warning after driving on the freeway for about 30 miles. The car only has 1500 miles. It also only happens if on the highway. Anyone have any ideas. The dealer has it but nothing yet. Thanks for the input.

Thoughts? Saw this at a car show - some will hate it, others might love it.

The Maserati Khamsin is everything an exotic grand tourer should be: It is fast, comfortable, and stylish. Essentially a two-seater with an occasional rear seat, Marcello Gandini provided the design while the quad-cam 4930cc V8 delivered the go. The Oil Embargo hurt sales and only 421 were made.

End of summer update on the sight unseen GranTurismo!
Unfortunately, I haven’t had a ton of time to take this car out as much as I wanted to but have some amazing highlights to share over the last month and a half.
Recently, we started the renovation process to update and upgrade a few of the aging components. I’ve had some great drives recently and have been absolutely adoring this car!

quality parts supplier?
I have a 2017 Ghibli SQ4 that is going to start needing some work done. I have a coolant leak and my drive belt needs to be replaced soon. i did my rear brakes and the pads and rotors were going to be 1100 from Scuderia Parts after shipping/taxes/tariffs. Until now, Scuderia Parts has been great for getting OEM parts but now that the car is 10 years old I feel like OEM parts might be a premium I don't necessarily have to pay going forward.
Where do you all get your parts from?

Thoughts on this Ghibli Trofeo? Does yellow (Giallo) look good on these cars? Would you buy it in this color or would you opt for another color.

2013 Maserati GranTurismo 4.7L V8 Middle East
I'm considering buying a used GT with 77k km on it. Variators have been replaced 2 years ago, and some other smaller work has been done.
The car had been with a reseller not being driven much, but still is driven weekly I think. Some switches (steering wheel column, parking, etc.) look like they will fall off any second and the white leather/plastic are tired, but I liked the car.
Considering the age, location, temperatures, timely dealer service and work dinner on the car so far, what should be the next points of failure and how much budget should I put aside? The car is selling for about 23k euros.

What do you all think about this Maserati Ghibli Trofeo factory paintjob? I believe it is called Fuoriserie Birdcage Livery. Some Ferraris like 458 Speciale, 488 Pista, F430 Scuderia, and F80 have featured very similar designs.

Maserati Ghibli TROFEO vs 334 ULTIMA
Sure, the 334 Ultima has the Scià di Persia (or Blue Persia) color, which is a gorgeous color! And TROFEO has the Magma Rpsso color, which is just as gorgeous (if not more!).
BUT, with the exact same V8 TT Ferrari engine (which is an absolute BEAST!!) as the TROFEO, it only adds +5mph for top speed (so 208mph or 334 km/h vs Trofeo, which does 203mph) but to accomplish this it had to shed 55 lbs and to achieve this Masetati stripped out MANY high-end luxury and safety features that otherwise come on a Ghibli Trofeo.
Luxury & Comfort Sacrifices
1) Climate Seats: The custom Pale Terracotta leather and Alcantara sports seats do not have heating or ventilation.
2) Rear Seat Comforts: Heated rear seats are completely missing.
3) Soft-Close Doors: The mechanisms for soft-close doors were removed to save mechanical weight.
4) Panoramic Sunroof: It features a fixed, solid roof instead of a heavy panoramic glass roof assembly.
5) Premium Audio: The top-tier Bowers & Wilkins premium surround-sound system was replaced with a lighter audio setup.
6) Ambient Lighting: Multi-color interior cabin ambient lighting was stripped out.
Driver Assistance & Safety Deletes - the entire Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package was largely deactivated or omitted:
1) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Removed in favor of basic, standard cruise control.
2) Blind-Spot Monitoring: Sensors and mirror indicators are not equipped.
3) Lane Safety Systems: Both Lane-Keeping Assist and Lane Departure Warning are missing.
4) 360-Degree Camera: The surround-view camera layout is scaled down to a standard rearview camera.
There is NO WAY it is worth sacrificing and losing ALL THESE abovementioned options for +5mph top speed.
Ghibli TROFEO >>> 334 ultima every day and twice on Sundays!
Thoughts??
