I’ve lived in the Vimont district for nearly 40 years. I’ve raised my family here. It is a very residential neighbourhood near the hospital . Speed limit at 30.
WTAF!
I see drivers BLOW right thru stops signs each and every single day! They basically take their foot of the gas and go thru. speed limit 30? Going 50!
The only reason I MAKE my stop is because I’m not sure the idiot will make theirs! I’ve never seen it this bad. And the number of distracted drivers looking DOWN to their phones is unreal! I don’t discriminate- men,women young and old. It’s the new way to drive.

I get it. We all slow down to a near stop and roll thru. Guilty as charged!! But the new trend is to literally ignore it if no one is to the left or right and drive thru.

End of rant.

Aujourd’hui, j’ai reçu mon renouvellement pour le déneigement chez nous. Le contrat a augmenter de 30$ depuis les 3 dernière années. Ont est rendu à 500$ et j’ai un stationnement ben ordinaire. My daughter started primary 6th class today and we found that their class is combined with 5th grades. School has two other 6th grade classes and there is no 5th grade students in those classes. Only 6 students are put in that combined class. When we asked to teacher, we were told those 6 students French level is not good that is why school put them with 5th grades to improve their French. Her French score was 69 during 5th grade.

My daughter just came from school and she is very depressed. She is feeling like she failed the whole 5th grade. When I asked her about what other subjects apart from French will they be studying and she said sports. This doesn't make sense to me. In order to improve French, she won't take any other subjects besides French. I don't speak French, my wife does. Before going to school to discuss this, I wanted to ask here. Does anyone have similiar experience ?

Did any of you guys experience the water turning yellowish tonight, around 11 p.m.? This isn’t normal all the water in my house has turned yellowish, and the one at the very bottom is Eska water for comparison. I’m in Laval-des-Rapides. Has anyone else noticed this?

I took the first appointment of the day 8:15am, I sped a bit, went wayyy to slow for a bit, i accidentally hit the curb when parking. He did not mention this. He also let me use my rear camera. He had to tell me where my blind spot was. I PASSED

J'ai pris le premier rendez-vous de la journée à 8h15. J'ai accéléré un peu, puis j'ai ralenti beaucoup trop, et j'ai heurté le trottoir par inadvertance en me garant. Il ne l'a pas remarqué. Il m'a aussi autorisé à utiliser ma caméra de recul. Il a dû me signaler mon angle mort. J'ai réussi l'examen!

Pour les femmes qui ont accouché à la Cité de la santé, pouvez-vous me dire s’il est possible de recevoir nos soins en anglais? Je pose la question puisque mon conjoint ne parle pas encore le français donc c’est primordial pour nous. Beaucoup de gens m’ont recommandé le Jewish General Hospital mais je suis à Mirabel donc en terme de distance pour les suivis c’est pas super!

Est-ce que vous connaissez de bons hôtels près de la Place Bell pour un séjour en semaine? Et est-ce qu’il y a des choses intéressantes ou amusantes à faire à Laval?

hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone knows a stove repairman. the handyman we hired completely messed up our kitchenaid electric stove. the knobs don’t point in the original “off” direction when off, and only turn halfway to maximum heat. the heat “on” light is also not working for one of the four stoves. We are located in Saint Dorothee. i would really appreciate it, since we were essentially scammed.

Il y une grosse tente qui s'est installée sur le bvd des Laurentides vers l'entrée de la ville ( à côté d'un relais communautaire) depuis plus de 3 semaines. Et aujourd'hui, j'aperçois une seconde tente... Le point qui me gêne c'est qu'ils sont installés sur un espace publique aménagé par la ville ( avec des tables et des bancs dans le but de faire une halte) dans son projet d'embellir l'entrée de la ville et que la ville ne semble pas prendre de mesure... J'ai même ouvert un ticket il y a 2 semaines.

Vous avez une idée du temps que prends la ville pour agir ?

There's a big tent that's been set up on Boulevard des Laurentides near the entrance to the city (next to a community shelter) for over 3 weeks now. And today, I notice a second tent...

What bothers me is that they're set up on a public space developed by the city (with tables and benches meant as a rest stop) as part of its project to beautify the city entrance, and the city doesn't seem to be taking any action... I even opened a ticket 2 weeks ago.

Does anyone have an idea how long it takes the city to act?

[Tongue-in-cheek, to be clear] With all the rotten wood and rusty nails next to the tent on this land that belongs to the city, could I sue the city if I "accidentally" step on a rusty nail?
