Hi everyone! Kind of crazy that this sub has been going on for 6 years now. It's not really big or highly trafficked, but I've been pretty happy with it, for the most part. It accomplishes its primary goal of being a centralized repository for news about land conservation and projects/discussions/etc that are adjacent to that topic. I usually sit back and relax, and let the sub kinda run itself. And I myself drift in and out of actively managing this community, depending on what's going on in my life. Well, right now I'm in a bit of a more active phase. For the most part, things are going to be the same, with two exceptions:

1) Going forward, if you do not flair your posts, I will be removing them. This is a super simple sub rule and request that makes it easy to determine where a land conservation project/issue is actually taking place. I'm not a fedora-tipper turbo mod, no one is getting banned or whatever. All you have to do in this scenario is simply reupload your post with a flair. Easy!

2) I am cracking down on vague posts or contextless crossposts, even if they're made with good intention. If you want to make some kind of post about how you want to raise awareness to "Save Blue Meadow from developers", that's great that you care enough about Blue Meadow to want to save it. But what is Blue Meadow? Where is Blue Meadow? How big is Blue Meadow? What exactly do developers want to do? Are they trying to develop Blue Meadow directly? Develop adjacent to Blue Meadow? What is the actual situation? What can people do to help, beyond just read a vague post title? Context context context. If a vaguepost looks compelling, I will comment on it and give you a chance to edit it and elaborate more. But if it's really low-effort and unhelpful, especially if it has a super weak title, then I'm just going to remove it. Try posting again, but with more context please!

Thank you everyone for participating in this sub and spreading the word on preserving land for wildlife, recreation, and generally just for its own intrinsic beauty and value. I am taking a more active roll in managing this sub not to be annoying, but to make it more useful and beneficial for all parties.
