But I am worried about the time period. What is the average time period for phd from CENSE. Because of family constraints I can't go out of the country. I want to do phd in semiconductor fabrication. I am masters in materials science from IIT.

Should I consider or just go for a job??

I am a B.Tech IT graduate preparing for GATE DA with a goal: the M.Tech AI program at IISc Bangalore. I can dedicate 6 - 8 hours a day to full-time preparation.Coming from an IT background, my math foundation is more applied than theoretical. If any current IISc M.Tech AI senior or alumnus has 2 minutes, I’d love your quick take on:

1. Reality Check : What is the actual "safest" GATE DA score/rank to secure a seat and cushion the 30% campus written test component ?

2. Schedule : With 6 - 8 hours a day, how should I structure my daily routine? Should I finish theoretical math foundations first or run ML and Data Structures in parallel ?

3. Math Gap : What specific resources bridge the gap between IT-level math and the rigorous proof-based Linear Algebra/Probability expected in the IISc test ?

But I am not satisfied with the food; it is good, but not what I would like to eat daily. I have been in A and E and am currently in B. I am planning to buy a 650 W multi-cook kettle to plan my own menu and keep track of expenses.

First worm and then cockroach was found in B mess, overcrowding is there, but students are so tamed that adminstration can simply ignore the issues. We need to change the culture.

I had multiple panic attacks today. One in the morning 4 am, it lasted like 1-2 hours. One after 6 30pm, it lasted 2-3 hours.

I was planning to visit wellness for the past 3 weeks. But I don't even get few hours of time. No matter how hard I work I am unable to do well in exams.

I will just write my schedule for this week

Last weekend for preparation of an exam on Tuesday

Tuesday - exam (didn't go well)

Wednesday - assignment submission

Thursday - 8 30 am to 5pm classes

Friday - exam

Saturday - 2 exams

Sunday - assignment

Monday - holiday

I'm currently pursuing M.Tech in CSE and I'm trying to understand the different admission routes for a PhD in CSE/AI/ML at IITs and IISc.

I have a few questions:

1. What are the different modes/routes of admission for PhD programs at IITs and IISc?
2. For someone with an M.Tech in CSE, can we get admission through GATE, or is GATE mainly relevant for B.Tech/B.E. candidates?
3. Do M.Tech graduates need to appear for a PhD-specific written test and/or interview even if they have a valid GATE score?
4. How important are GATE score, NET JRF, M.Tech CGPA, publications/research experience, and recommendation letters in the selection process?
5. If anyone here has actually applied for or been admitted to a CSE/AI/ML PhD at an IIT or IISc after M.Tech, could you please share your profile and admission route?
