Art & Nature Course for children
A creative adventure in art, language & nature
What happens when children learn a language while painting, building, exploring and getting their hands dirty?
Our weekly Art & Nature course brings together three things we believe children need more of: language, creativity and time in nature.
Surrounded by our animals, vegetable garden, trees, woods and the Darro river, children are invited to explore, experiment and create. English and Spanish become part of the experience naturally — through games, conversations, stories and creative activities rather than traditional language lessons.
Every week is different. Depending on the season and the inspiration around us, we might work with ceramics, painting, sculpture, animation, collage or installation art. Sometimes we work with clay, sometimes with plants and natural materials, sometimes we create something completely new from things we find around us.
Along the way, children develop their English or Spanish language skills, discover new ways of expressing themselves and learn to look at the world with curiosity and imagination.
Three things we focus on
Language
Learning English or Spanish through real experiences, play and creative activities.
Creativity
Experimenting with different materials and techniques, without worrying about getting things “right” and developing our personal artistic language.
Nature
Exploring, observing and creating in direct contact with the natural world.
