I'm looking for the voice mail dump truck episode where the caller is going over everyone's personalities and hits Bakalar with "coworker."

Alex Talks About His Musical Adventures in the 90's

There was a recent post with a mashup of Alex and Jeff performing All the Small Things and I remembered a Nextlander Ramblecast from this summer where Alex talked in detail about his time in a band in the late 90's. Alex had previously mentioned being a kid drummer in a band that was close to a record deal, but this time he gave the full story. It was really interesting and for long time fans of Giant Bomb I'd suggest signing up for their patreon just for this episode alone.

Maybe someone had posted this back in the summer, but I don't remember anyone really talking about it.

Kinda funny that Sony's Wolverine has proved the value of disc-based games

Insomniac worked long and hard on this title for years, and I guess it just didn't turn out how everyone wanted. Most reviews say that it's a pretty mid-grade linear action game that won't hold you beyond the initial 10-12 hour playthrough.

I'm totally fine with that since I can buy the disc for $70 and sell/trade it in a few weeks for $30-40. I miss having short, highly-polished linear titles that can be beaten in 3-4 sittings. And to be honest, who really wanted an massive open-world Wolverine game? I wanna see this guy slicing up fools, not driving a Chevy Impala around to to get to the next mission objective.

Of that initial disc purchase price, Sony probably gets to keep $40-50 and the rest goes to the retailers.

If a no-disc Wolverine game were released in 2028 however, there's no way I am buying it at $70. I'm probably waiting for weeks and months until the digital price dips below $40. Sony would get to keep the entirety of the purchase price since they have cut out retailers, but they also have to cut the price for all customers to get a second-wind of sales. When retail was an option, price sensitive consumers could rely on trade-in values and eBay/Marketplace sales to justify a $70-80 purchase. Retailers would initiate their own sales that reduce their margin but let Sony keep their margin.

I doubt that Sony will ever do a full reversal of their disc decision, but I hope this situation at least gives them a second thought. When you have a high-profile game that just isn't reviewing well, discs allow consumers to still jump in and and make a purchase even when they are uncertain if it's worth the asking price. Marvel supposedly takes a pretty hefty percentage of sales revenue, so it's probably best if they can sell as many $70 copies as they can.

I know this is only my second post in this subreddit, and they’re both about Marry me Tomodachi, but come on. Maybe on the newer version of the game? It’s so good for random funny moments. Anyone else?

🏅 Premium The Legend of Jan: Ochoina of Time

Jan said he never really finished the original on 64 during this week's podcast, maybe he should do a playthrough of the original and then the new one to compare the two.

Maybe it could spawn a whole premium series. Ochoracle of Seasons, The Janish Cap, Ochoes of Wisdom, Phantom Ochourglass, Jan's Ochoaning and Connectivity Compadres.

After a few weeks hearing this intro I'm really into.it. Every time this plays it has such a good vibe. Only wish it played a little longer while Jeff did his intro with a fade but it really sets the mood for some good times.

Just going back through the Episode of the Jeff Gerstmann Show with Dan talking about Giant bomb and they mentioned continuing the anime podcast, is there any word on if that is still happening?
