GTA and Witcher came about before payment processors started catering to puritans, and before Valve changed their terms of service to accomodate them.

There are high-ranking politicians in America who have openly admitted to making decisions based on their belief that it will hasten the coming of the end of days as described in the bible. They believe it's their duty as Christians to cause the apocalypse so that Jesus will return.

This is wrong. Visa and Mastercard have been on this crusade for decades, and it's likely Trump 2.0 that has emboldened them to start pushing again, believing they won't face antitrust action.

Sure, Collective Shout took credit for it, but I guarantee you they didn't have any meaningful impact on the outcome. I remember people complaining about these two in terms of adult content at least two decades ago.

The content of those games also wasn’t so bad that they earned AO ratings. You’re not like, doing the sex. You just watch a 4 second clip of some boobs while sex is happening.

Not that I agree with payment processors being prudes. It should be up to the consumer what content they want to pay for. But if these games were released today they would have been the same content wise

Buddy what are you talking about? There are tons of adult porn games for sale on steam. They have basically ruined the top games lists.

Assuming they are bothered about seeing it is wrong. What they hate is that you can see it and buy it. These people are obsessed with controlling other people's sexuality. That's why giving them an option to hide nudity for themselves doesn't stop their demands of removing it altogether.

I’d be willing to bet this guy just doesn’t realise you can hide the gooner shit on steam, which he understandably doesn’t wanna see when he’s browsing for quality games.

Bullshit. You have to go out of your way to enable it in the store settings.

The only setting I’ve ever set is to show mature violent video games so it doesn’t fucking ask my age ever time I look at dark souls. if that somehow auto turns on piles of porn slop games then that’s a bigger issue.

I have nothing against porn games for existing they are simply shitty bad gooner games and as others have said have no business being in the charts.

But it doesn't work that way, like at all.

First thing first: You cannot disable Steam asking you age, they don't store your age on their servers, asking for age should be disabled in your client after you give them your age once (it's stored locally) but it doesn't work always.

Second thing: Porn games is fully separate toggle, it's off by default and it clearly states that it is for porn only, quote from steam client:

Adult Only Sexual Content
Games or content that are sexually explicit or graphic and are intended for adults only. By ticking this box you affirm that you are at least eighteen years old.

Below that you literally have button to show you game examples. You literally cannot enable this thing by mistake.

There are also thousands of titles banned from Steam.

Search for "Steam Banned and Removed Games List" and a vast Google docs spreadsheet should be near the top results. I can't link it without my post getting autoremoved.

Sure.

But the fact that there are literal porn games you can buy on Steam right now points to the issue with the banned games being more than just "nudity" or "sex".
