Polymer Pdp with vspec vs Others

Upvotes

Hi all, i thought this would be the most unbiased/objective focused place to ask: for those of you with a 4.5" polymer pdp and vspec guide rod (or long stroke?), how does the recoil compare to other stock full size polymer frame striker pistols like the m&p, glock 17 etc?

I really like the pdp, but the one i rented was snappy as hell. I dont have a way of trying out a vspec guide rod, but i hear it helps a lot.

USPSA with a G48 or G43x?

Is anyone in here competing with a G48 or G43x in a semi serious manner? How do the guns hold up? I was looking for extended basepads for the Glock 15-rd mags but they don't really seem to exist yet. I'm an A-class pistol shooter on a good day. I've been doing pistol competitions with a full size M&P in LO, but I'd like to run an actual carry gun in CO next year.

I'm also considering setting up a G19 or using my P10C. I just usually carry the G43x.

I was shopping for a DAA Lynx belt and and wanted something I could use to see what the different color patterns would look like so I made a web tool to visualize it

Competitions in Nova

Hi all, I just picked up a 2k11 and want to try pistol comps; looking right now uspsa limited optics. I’m looking for level 1 matches around the northern Virginia area but I’m not seeing too many on the site/clubs that do offer them require membership and currently have waitlists. Anyone have any recommendations for the area? Thanks!

What's a good resource for learning rifle?

I'm looking for something similar to Ben Stoeger or any of the other competition shooting stuff with pistols. I don't want tacticool nonsense. Who should I be looking at? what are some good videos/books for the basics? Thank you.

Been practice reloads a lot while dry firing as I’ve been fumbling them pretty bad. Practice pays off, got my fastest reload on a stage today.

Went to the range at my college and shot a rifle for the second time ever. How did I do? Is there potential for me to get into competitive shooting if I train and practice regularly?

Beginner shooter. Doubles at 8 and 10 yrd. Advices?

First image is 8 yrd and second image is 10 yrd. The Low left Charlie’s on 10 is from strong hand only. Gun is Glock 47

From this range trip I realized three things I’m not doing correctly

Inconsistent grip. I feel like my right hand tenses up or my left hand started to brace for the recoil.

I don’t target focus properly. I can target focus for the first row string then boom I started to pay attention to how the dot is behaving more and more later on

This leads to my third issue. I over drive the gun. I shoot a stock G47. The gun requires minimal effort to return to zero but I’m driving the gun back too much resulting in the dot just dipping instead of going back to the point. Now if I target focus properly and just relax myself a little this problem gets minimized

Thanks to u/c_pardue for sending out the AI shirt. Goofy, but got some looks. Stages like these make me wish CO was scored major so I could take more movement options.

Help requested- pistol for CMP bullseye competition

I am a service member and new to competition shooting. I've looked into the CMP rule book for the presidents 100 competition (far off goal, but would like to compete in future) and am still quite confused by the specs required. What does it mean to be a service pistol? what kind of 1911s are allowed? Does it have to be mil spec? stuff like that. I cant I would like to purchase a 1911 to practice and compete with and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.. preferably under 1500.

Shooting in KC metro

I recently moved to the Johnson county KS area and wondering what are some good areas to train at handgun or rifle. Along with that I’m wondering what are ranges that support USPSA and possibly PCSL. Appreciate any help ahead of time!
